Well, after my previous Transformers-Final Fantasy crossover figure I began considering other lines I could crossover with Transformers. We have Marvel Transformers, so I thought I'd try my hand at a DC crossover figure! I chose an animated figure as a kind of tribute to the animated style that shows like Batman the Animated Series and Justice League made famous, which ultimately influenced TFA.

So, he began life a TFA Blurr. Once prepped for the Iacon operating room, he was given a paint job from head to toe using various Dupli Color enamels. Silver was the base, and I used metallic medium garnet red. Tamiya clear yellow was used over the silver for the gold effect. The Flash decal was hand made. Two coats of Pledge Future was used to provide that ultra gloss, almost wet look. The paint was removed from the windshield to feature the translucent plastic.

That's awesome. And painting you did on that looks really nice and sharp. I like it quite a bit! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-ironhide.gif)

A surprising instance where following the costume's color scheme doesn't negatively effect the alt. mode.

Beautiful!

(Though I always figured Kyle Rainer would be the first to get a Giant Robot in his image. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-arcee.gif) )

I know it's the Flash, yet him being all metal makes me think IronMan all the time. :x

Only thing that would have made this better is if you could have modifed the head to have the lightningbolt details on the side.

Wally West had a metallic costume for a while.

Also, someone going to BotCon should get a bottle of Pledge Future and pour it into a bunch of 2oz paint bottles to distribute at the kitbashing class. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-hotrod.gif) I mean, if you're not using it to actually coat a floor, even the small bottles are more than a kitbasher is likely to ever need.

Finally discovered the floor wax? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-hotrod.gif) I think our mutual friend Probe bought the stuff by the gallon at one point!
