Superman Gets a Hipster Makeover - Crush: Hollywood's Next Generation - omg! on Yahoo

I see this being about as successful as the whole "Energy Being" Supes from several years ago.

It's a new canon so it doesn't really matter.

Um I posted a thread on "Superman: Earth One" months ago and as Mr. Blud pointed out correct it's a new continuity that is separate from the DCU. I like how everyone harps on the cover and claims it's "emo" without even had you know read the freaking book!!! Rao...

The book is terrible, but not for the uninformed whiny reasons that article tries to foist on it.

Never said I did. Or that I cared to.

In this context, terrible is used in the "forty cakes" sense of the word.

See the internet has allowed people to make blanket judgment statements like the one Defunct just did without having even read the book. If it is terrible because you're not a JMS fan and don't care to read it because of it, that's one thing but I'm starting to get tired of fans making blanket statements without any reason to, or providing a reason for it.

I've seen it used so many times in so many different contexts, I don't even know what it means anymore.

"Hipster" is the new "emo".

Here's a preview of Earth One Superman...he looks okay...nothing to drastic, Lois looks hot, Jimmy looks in awe. There is a brand new villain in this book as well, Lex is absent. If this one does well they'll do more. Batman Earth One should be coming out next year.

It's been called "Superman for the Twilight generation" by the New York Post.
And Dan DiDio says the story is "hip, sexy and moody".

That's about all I need to know to stay the hug away from it.

This book possesses terribleness. It is a quality that is practically scrawled across the cover of the book. Calling it such is like remarking that your face has a nose on it.

While I know next to nothing about this, either, I wouldn't exactly call this:

much of an endorsement or stamp of quality, lol.

I know.

Also, the fact that it's written by JMS isn't much of a stamp of quality either. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-fire.gif)
