When I opened my "First Edition" Starscream, I noticed that the tip of both pieces of the vertical stabilizer (the "tailfin") were broken. I took a closer look at the packaging, and apparently the piece of plastic over that part didn't really have enough free space, so it was pressing down on the tip and it broke.
Since this seems to have been caused by the way it was packaged, I was wondering if it was a common issue. --------------------  |

First I've heard of it. Hopefully you can exchange it. Make sure you have the receipt, TRU won't take exchanges without one.

I've had one with no horizontal tail stabilizer, I've had one with no HEAD, but never that particular issue.
