Yeah, I'm in a similiar boat. Got mine the week after Botcon at TRU, from the first batch in my area. And I too thought it was something deliberate. I certainly don't dislike how it turned out.

Dark orange here too...but im curious since mines been put away, what color is the hood on the box pic of him?

I threw my packaging away but found a card scan (below). It appears as though the "homogeneous orange" (great term for this, Silent_Magnus) is the "official" version. The card displays a Huffer toy with a hood that's the same shade as the rest of the vehicle.

Can anyone provide some more detailed photos, from multiple angles, of the homogenous color scheme? I have the non-matching one. I think I would like the matching more. (Not that I am going to buy another to get it, but I wonder.)
I was at two Targets and one TRU tonight and didn't see the matching version at any of the three. Granted I had stopped looking at the first wave PCCs once I had the ones I wanted, so I don't know if it's out in my area elsewhere. |

doesn't bother me that his hood doesn't match, I just took it as some sort of fleet marking the truck he scanned came with...
makes him less of a "just off the showroom floor" bot like most TFs these days --------------------  |

Seems I'm in the Minority of liking the Homogeneous orange, as I find the dark orange hood looks really bad.

I personally don't really have a preference. I just thought it was amusing how many people prefer the mismatched hood.
