The problem with this is they have repeatedly stated that they /did not/ get rushed to finish the ending and that the ending in place is their original "Artistic vision". So the message they are putting out there is that the ending is exactly what they wanted it to be, gaping plot holes and all. Granted we know that the team actually wasn't in agreement on the ending, but that isn't what they are trying to sell us. Of course they're gonna say that. Doesn't mean it's what happened. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-primal.gif) And George Lucas always thought the Force was actually symbiotic bacteria in your bloodstream, even back in 1970. Yeah, I agree here, if they say what they say, it's because they want to keep their contract to Bioware. Mass Effect is one of the games I really want to play to get to experience the story, but just hate the gameplay that much that it puts me off. I mean, the whole duck-shoot-duck combat... really not my cup of tea. -------------------- |

The entire theme of Mass Effect 3 is that your actions have consequences long after you've performed them--ones you never could have predicted, ones that you may regret, and ones that you have to move forward from. They tried that somewhat with Mass Effect 2 and the Suicide Mission--you could even die after winning the game--but it never really worked the way they intended. A lot of people went back and replayed their choices until everyone lived, and nobody who's familiar with how video games operate was ever at risk of dying themselves unless they really went out of their way to make it happen. All throughout 3, they came up with a solution to that--make the consequences rely on your actions from tens of hours earlier in the game, or even from the previous games. Put a real barrier to "fixing" your wrong choices, to force the player to live with them. You can't do that with the ending, though--or at least you couldn't normally. That's actually, well, Bioware's (or should I say, Black Isle's?) theme. Not just for Mass Effect. I made some choices in Fallout 2 that seemed totally right... and it caused the eradication of the intelligent Deathclaws, because the Enclave was hot on my trail. I choose the least evil gangster to aid in a town populated with criminals, and might have given the guy access to technology that could easily make him overlord of a large area. In Planescape Torment, I sometimes lied about being called Adanh, and it actually resulted in the creation of this person, who was not too happy to be brought into existance that way (words have power). In Dragon Age Origins, I respected Alistair's wishes and did not coerce him into being a king - he ended up a lone wolf, disappearing into the wildness, forgotten. And I choose the faithful advisor to be the dwarven king instead of the son who murdered his brother and had his other brother exiled - and the guy's traditionalist views led to the decline of the kingdom, the isolation of Orzammar and even threatened with war against the humans. So yeah... the road to hell is paved with good intentions. This post has been edited by BB Shockwave: Apr 18 2012, 09:24 AM -------------------- |

Got my various reward packs this week. I got the N7 Valiant sniper rifle. It's pretty sweet. I also got the Batarian soldier for my Resurgence reward. I haven't played him yet because I'm working on promoting my human soldier.

What do you mean by resurgence reward, how do you get that? I played it a bit at the weekend and never got anything.

Bioware releases victory packs late Tuesday early Wednesday if you participated in the weekend event, ( currently Xbox and PC only) in this case it was playing with the dlc installed, they should all be up by now, just check for a free pack in the store. they also posted a special resurgance pack this week which supposedly guarantees a dlc unlock, haven't bought one yet.
my victory pack wound up giving me another battlemaster, I can change the color of his jammies now. Apparently they also buffed a crapload of weapons this week. -------------------- |

My Resurgence pack had the new Asari Adept in it, woo. All of my hate. My free pack had Batarian soldier. I've bought 3 of the new Resurgence Packs and gotten nothing but weapon upgrades for the new guns. All I want is the justicar adept. All. I. Want. *sigh* It's the only new class I haven't unlocked at this point. -------------------- |

I keep playing random matches and most of the time its Collectors I'm battling, now and again its Cerberus but I've only got the Geth a couple of times. Anyone else finding this? I can see why people rave about the geth plasma shotgun, great weapon.

I feel better about Dragon Age 2 now. O_o but even that doesn't make up for this. WOW. I think this is worse than the old "congratulations you won" end screen we use to get on the NES Bioware is at least getting the hints. I hear they will return to the way things were in Origins in DA 3. -------------------- |

I was thinking about the lifespans of asari and krogans this morning and I think some perspective is helpful here.
Warlord Okeer, Grunt's creator, was a veteran of the Krogan Rebellions, which ended around the year 800 AD. That's the year Charlemagne was crowned Holy Roman Emperor. Matriarch Benezia, Liara's mother, is easily older than Columbus' discovery of the Americas. Liara herself was born in 2077. When that year comes around in the real world, if I'm still alive, I'll be turning 99. -------------------- |

looks like they are pulling back on the MP events. now its once every 2 weeks. Honestly I don't think its a good idea unless theres been some explosion of interest in MP that has made doing events less needed to get people playing. but my stake in it is pretty low. Researgence minorly renewed my interest but its waned again already.

Not sure if anybody is still playing the multiplayer ( my own interest in it dropped off a few weeks ago..) but they've officially announced the next DLC pack "rebellion". Two new maps, 6 new characters and some weapons and eqiupment. might fire it back up. comes out on the 29th and is free just like the last one.

I like playable Vorcha, and given that that's the case, I'll never unlock them -__- (I still don't have a single Krogan, Batarian or Geth )
New handguns would be nice also. I guess they're holding info on the fixed ending for E3, huh. It'd be nice to know of these things more than just under a week before they're available. -------------------- ![]() |

My interest in the multiplayer has been waning quite a bit lately, but I'll stick around long enough to give this a try. We're getting a new objective type (Retrieval, which was cut initially and can sometimes be glitched into currently) as well as a new permanent equippable "gear" slot. That should change up multiplayer a fair bit.
Not really feeling any of the new classes yet, but I'll have to see what the new powers do before I really decide. Still haven't gotten an asari Justicar :/ I will say that when I was hoping for a quarian marine, "arc grenade" is one of the powers I imagined for him.. so, happy to see that in. New weapons sound pretty good too.. sniper rifle sounds absolutely ridiculous- adjustable scope, piercing, high explosive.. I want it. Just a heads up, the challenge this weekend is to promote 3 characters. Starts at 9pm Eastern/6pm Pacific -------------------- |

Yeah I've found I've been turning the game on once every two weeks for the challenge weekend squad goal and then going back to World of warcraft. I'm hoping these changes will pique my interest a bit but I can only take so much defeat from random gear drops before I get frustrated that I'm wasting my time and move on to something else.

I get this massive feeling of "meh" from multiplayer now. I played a round last night for the first time in weeks and, though I was doing pretty well, I just wasn't having as much fun. The random Banshee in the middle of a Cerberus wave was pretty insane; Banshees are the only enemy I find hard to kill without using my rocket launcher.
