His black head makes him look like a totally different person, but I suppose it is less extensive than, say, red Bumblebee.

Yeah, I guess I should've said "a fourth color scheme that isn't exactly the same colors as one of the other three (but in different amounts)."
Like Prowl and Mexican Prowl, Barricade would just be black and white and silver. I love those colors on Prowl, but I'd rather the hypothetical repaint be vastly different. |

I'd like to see that mold blue with a silver hood.
-=-=- Personally, I'm a fan of SG, so this is a no-brainer. But even if I wasn't...G1 reissue repaints! Yeah, I prefer the Diaclone repaints, but that isn't always possible. Soundwave and Blaster don't have pre-TF variant paint jobs. Takara doesn't choose their reissues based on what eHobby can make with a repaint. Once the molds are there and ready to go, eHobby just has a yes or no whether to do something with what Takara already chose, right? They could just neglect to do repaints of reissues that don't have a Diaclone, but this is how we got Sunstorm and Detritus. To me, even if I didn't care for SG, it is better than Gold Jazz and Silver Bluestreak. I bought those, but I thought it was boring. This post has been edited by Axaday: Sep 2 2012, 07:07 PM |

Shattered glass is not my thing at all. I'm pretty disappointed by this, here's hoping this partnership leads to more interesting things in the future. I want to see things we wouldn't normally have access to, not things I feel like the Club could do next year if they want. That's probably for the future, the thing is there... Really aren't any eHobby exclusives at the moment When has Fun Publications ever redecoed a G1 mold on their own? This set likely exists as a joint exclusive because it ISN'T something FP could have produced without the help of e-HOBBY. All those figures with die-cast parts? I mean, the costs there alone... Was mainly talking about having stuff available to us that's not usually available I predict the partnership means that there'll be eHobby stuff in the club store come their next release though I'm not sure where this is coming from. You're acting as though these are TCC figures. And that eHOBBY's only involvement is that they will be releasing in Japan. (Unless I'm misreading your posts.) Let me assure you, this IS an eHOBBY release. Strongly collaborated with the TCC as far as colors, characters and fiction go, but an eHOBBY release nonetheless. Which is why, as some have already noticed, it has the Takara Tomy logo on it rather than a Hasbro logo. The TCC offering them outside of Japan is just... exactly what you say in your last sentence. Part of the partnership. This is correct. This is an e-HOBBY release that the TCC has had some creative input on, and is distributing in the states. That's why e-HOBBY decided to go with use of the G1 molds, something that we've been known for. -Hydra -------------------- |

I just checked and couldn't be happier with G1 Soundwave's scale. Shoulder high on SG Megatron and the same height as Starscream.

My only complaint is that the Rewind/Eject mold is overused now. The yellow guy whoever it is should have been the Rumble/Frenzy mold and the red/white guy should have been SG Steeljaw or some other mold that has barely been used. I was thinking each mold should be used a maximum of four times until the other molds have a chance to catch up. Still, they all look good though.
Hydra, when will we find out the names of the Rewind/Eject molds? I'm really wondering what the deal is with the yellow/white guy. (IMG:http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v520/Bass_X/ece_01_happyou02.jpg) This post has been edited by Bass X0: Sep 3 2012, 05:49 AM |

That Soundwave is gorgeous. Agreed. I have zero interest in SG fictionally but that is a DAMN pretty Soundwave. I also LOVE that Ramhorn. I was never a big fan of the original, but in those colors he looks really great. I still feel like Blaster could have been better color wise. It reads a little better as a toy than it did in the illustration but still not feeling it as much as I'd like to be. Blaster was a favorite of mine, so I want it to look great but it just feels like something is missing color wise to really make it work. The other cassettes are ok. As new not-SG characters I'd be mildly interested. It seems such a shame to waste new cassette colors on SG instead of making new characters in a REAL G1 universe, but I know that's my personal fictional prejudice. -ZacWilliam, would have been slightly more interested if it had been SG vs some positive universe guys, either zg1 or Transtech or whatever. Least I'd have a horse in the race there. -------------------- Ever wonder about the speed of Turbofoxes?

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-bee.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-silverbolt.gif) Now those guys pop! I gotta say they blew away my highest expectations in the color department. They REALLY came out great!!! I think Blaster has a really pretty and unique color scheme. Ramhorn looks deliciously evil, Ratbat is very cool, Slugfest is a lot more red than I expected, and Rewind/Eject is very different than any other version of the mold and shows that you can break up the normally light gray parts more than we've seen before. As for Soundwave I thought I'd be tired of those colors on him but the brighter colors used for the Deluxe SG Soundwave (over the darker Music Label's) REALLY look fantastic on him! I'm very excited about these guys. I hope that the last Eject/Rewind guy lives up to the other 6, as they all look great! Randy -------------------- ![]() |

Cheaper than people were expecting, I think.
I love the Soundwave, though I think those forearms might look pretty weird in tape deck mode. That looked like Overkill, to me, in the drawing. He was standing on hind legs and his plates were hidden behind Soundwave. |

QUOTE I love the Soundwave, though I think those forearms might look pretty weird in tape deck mode. Soundwave's tape mode already looks weird from behind, because his shoulders and head are right there. Some blue bits are unlikely to change that too much, I think. I was hoping that some of Blaster's grey would have purple-y tones, but other than that I think both look great, and any cassette repaints are always fun. |

A lot of people speculating about who the yellow cassette is.
He's not pictured here yet because the character itself is going to be part of the final reveal. Also, because he's not from the Shattered 'Verse like these guys are. I've heard quite a bit of Primus and Emirate Xaaron, but frankly, I'd just as soon leave those guys to Simon Furman. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-blitz.gif) No, this is some serious obscura. Any more guesses? It's suggested very heavily by the imagery in our teasers. -Hydra -------------------- |
