Reading through Megatron Origin story now. I have read everything up to the end of Revelations, but I apparently needed to read the Drift story first followed by the maximum Dinobots series. After that I will reread the AHM series. I also found this list online from two years ago.

Well, I finished up the Ongoing series, now I am at Robots in Disguise and MTMTE. Any particular order I should read those in?

MTMTE #1 comes before RID #1. MTMTE Annual 2012 comes before RID Annual 2012. Otherwise, I don't think it matters.

Also, the MtMtE Annual occurs in the middle of the Scavengers two-parter (#7 & #8), while the RiDW Annual occurs between #9 and #10 of that series.

You know, while I am really enjoying the current series; the art and writing are all great, I just have an issue with the depiction of Orion Pax. First, I don't like that he just looks like Optimus Prime, only slightly different (outiside the Pax spotlight), also I don't like that he's basically a super hero. He's this fantastic, nigh infallible super-cop who always gets his bot.

I just like there to be some kind of difference between Prime and Pax, and as it is, it seems the only difference is Pax lacks the Matrix. I like the old G1 story of him being a nobody dock worker who is chosen to rise up and lead his people through the war. Not this famous super-cop who already commands the respect of commoners and politicians alike, and is basically already a great leader.

Is it just me? Don't get me wrong, like I said, the stories have been well written and enjoyable so far, it just this one thing that sticks in my craw.

Keep in mind that the Pax we see during "Shadowplay" is an idealized one, as the entire story is being told much after the fact by other people (Ratchet, Chromedome, Drift, etc). And the senator was interested in him partially due to his Matrix compatability.

RID;

Its a little dark, and seems to want to make Prowl into a villain. I like seeing the plot unfold though, and I want to know where this is all leading to. Arcee is awesome in this series, and I am loving what they are doing with Starscream. I can't wait to see how they explain what's going on with the planet and explain the insanity thing outside of the city. I loved the old fashioned comic style for the flashback to ancient Cybertron. I love seeing how Nova Prime "fell", and a little bit more back story on Dai Atlas and Omega Supreme.

MTMTE:

I am loving the whole spanning the galaxy storyline. I didn't think that I would, but I really do love it. Tailgate just makes this comic awesome, especially his interactions with Ultra Magnus and Cyclonus. speaking of those two, they are awesome in this series. I loved the medical facility, the DJD, and the Flashback tale. All three of those were just so great. Fort max going nuts is kind of weird, but I loved his speech when he first came online, and i absolutely loved Rung and his interactions with the crew.

Transformers:

This was an okay series, but despite its length and interesting plot, it really didn't do much for me. One thing, that really annoyed me was that the art style kept changing. from a G1 look, to an artistic look, to Don's Bayverse look, it just kept on changing without warning. Personally, I wished that they would have just stayed with the G1 look. Also, I found the ending to this series rather ambiguous and confusing.

All Hail Megatron:

I read this before I read everything else, but I reread in the order it was supposed to be read in, and I enjoyed it even more. I think that I enjoyed this series the most out of all of the them. It had some comedy, it had all out war on Earth, it had a tale of the Autobots struggling to survive on a barren home world filled with the insecticon swarm with an unknown traitor in their midst. I really enjoyed reading this series.

Infiltration/Stormbringer/Escalation/Devastation/Revelations:

I found these series quite enjoyable, and I loved the way they focused on earth and then jumped back to reveal a barren wasteland that is Cybertron. I love the way the two armies are structured and the fact that they actually have battles, territories, fleets, and bases. I loved seeing how the Decepticons conquer a world in stages.

Spotlights/Revelations:

These are an absolute pleasure to read. Even the worst of them was highly enjoyable.

Is MTMTE 13 due this week? According to IDW forums, MtMtE 13 is delayed until February 6th.

While I was there I also found this from James Roberts.

Hello!

Something a little different -- a little more indulgent -- this month. That's right, even more indulgent than usual.

See, issue #13 of MTMTE is different to the rest. Good different, bad different, I'll leave you to decide -- but it's one of my favorites, and I doubt (for various reasons, some of which will become clear as we go along) whether I'll ever write another one like it.

So... rather than the usual two tracks to whet your appetite, I've pulled together a playlist for the issue (see below). Maybe I just got overwhelmed at being able to showcase happy songs for a change...

The story in this particular issue is called 'Cybertronian Homesick Blues' and it features Swerve, Rewind, Rung, Skids, Whirl, Ultra Magnus, Tailgate and Cyclonus... having an unusual adventure.

Oh, and there's a little surprise at the back of the issue.

Dialog:

"I've told Rodimus, you know. I've said, 'Rodimus, I'm going back to Cybertron.'"

And here's the (indie-schmindie-leaning) playlist:

  • Spotlight: Cliffjumper*
  • Spotlight: Wheelie*
  • Spotlight Sixshot
  • Spotlight: Hot Rod
  • Spotlight: Soundwave (Set in 1984)
  • Spotlight: Ultra Magnus

[edit] lol, learn to read the thread Airachnid!
