I've been sitting on these pics for days because I've mislaid my camera's Micro-USB cable. However, I had a portable card-reader I had completely forgotten about. Eat-it wayward cable!
(IMG:http://www.corvusonline.net/customs/CPrime01.jpg) (IMG:http://www.corvusonline.net/customs/CPrime02.jpg) (IMG:http://www.corvusonline.net/customs/CPrime03.jpg) (IMG:http://www.corvusonline.net/customs/CPrime04.jpg) (IMG:http://www.corvusonline.net/customs/CPrime05.jpg) I've been meaning to do this custom for YEARS, and just kept putting it off. Well, its been put off no longer! As you can see, I went with yellow eyes, to hearken back to the original toy. I added silver and a little gunmetal to the inside of the cab portion to make part of it stand out. He now has a silver pelvis and thighs, as well as silver head and shin-vents, and upper arms. His vehicle-mode grille and bumper are also silver, and I purposely left off the screw that held it to the torso so it can peg in and out as I see fit. The rifle is from the BTS toy Matrix of Leadership set, painted in gunmetal with some blue highlights. He's not done quite yet. I have the reprolabel classics set coming my way, as well as some extra silver faction symbols (I love the silver symbols), and I'll be adding those to it. I'm also fixing up a pair of old G1 Magnus smokestacks that I can snap on and off as well. I'm also considering trying to get a good approximation of his red portions so I can touch-up the areas where the yellow (and a bit of the blue on the left shoulder) refused to completely budge, and I may use that red along the bottom portions of the forearm panels as well. The colors I have used on this, thus far, are Krylon Silver, as well as Tamiya Silver, Lemon yellow, and Flat Blue. Citadel Color in Mithril Silver, Blood Red, Sunburst Yellow, Skull White, and Enchanted Blue. Lastly, I also used testors model-master acryls in Gunmetal, Dark Blue, and Deep Pearlescent Purple. Comments are welcome (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-hotrod.gif) -------------------- |

That looks sharp.
PLEASE tell me you're going with the *one* symbol on the left shoulder. The double symbols are a huge pet peeve. ...course this is your custom so..... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-fire.gif) -------------------- ![]() |

LOL! Yeah, I remember now that the ol double-symbol thing annoys you.
Thing is, the original toy has one on each shoulder, or at least that's the way it was depicted. But I'll leave it at one on the left side...at least long enough to take pics of the completed custom anyway. I may slap the second one on there after that though (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-fire.gif) Also, thanks! This post has been edited by ^0^CORVUS^o^: Jan 15 2012, 09:00 PM -------------------- |

I think it was on the toy.
Fictionally he only had one and Hasbro seems to have canonized that as his "true" design by virtue of molding it on both MP-Primes. -------------------- ![]() |

Nice, I love this. Prime has always looked awesome with yellow eyes over the typical blue ones.
If I ever get my hands on an extra Classics prime I want to do this someday. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-ironhide.gif) -------------------- .

Thanks very much, I'm glad you like it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-hotrod.gif) While not -totally- done yet, since I still have a few more touches to add, I have since added some reprolabels...

It's amazing how yellow Eyes does such a difference.
I'm half expecting a Ratchet with a red head and white headcrest standing next to him. And Classics Meg's with yellow eyes and a black helmet. Oh and I forgot a purple Soundwave flanking him. Thats how much I feel teleported into the comics... This post has been edited by MonsterFromMars: Jan 31 2012, 12:32 AM -------------------- .

I think it was on the toy. Fictionally he only had one and Hasbro seems to have canonized that as his "true" design by virtue of molding it on both MP-Primes. Well, the thing about the original toy is that it was a sticker sheet, so you could choose your own preference. |

Thanks! I love my silver movie-style faction stickers (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-hotrod.gif) Ditto. They're super sharp looking, and for a lot of figures, they're far more complimentary than the garish classic red/purple ones. I need to order more of those. I'm starting to run out of certain sizes from the two freebie sheets I got awhile ago. |

They're pretty cheap. I made sure to order two this time around, and I may order a couple more when I next order from 'em.

The chrome silver looks really sharp here. Where's the G1 style rifle from?

Thanks!
The rifle is from the BTS Matrix of Leadership set, and has been repainted. -------------------- |

Surprised you took the front wheels right off. I've always thought the way it folded up to be quite neat.
