I'm very much not excited about the bulk of the DotM toyline, but the recent reveal of Space Case got me thinking I'd like to get him as soon as I possibly can. To this end, it would probably be helpful if I could check the DCPI in the Target system.
Does anyone know of a site that keeps current lists of DCPIs for Transformers? I don't see one here, at least. Granted, I wouldn't expect Space Case's assortment to be there yet since it's a few months away. This post has been edited by gargunkle: Apr 27 2011, 06:53 PM |

It's DPCI; Department, Class, Item.

IMHO, even having the DPCI for whatever line the figure in question is in, it will still be next to worthless because Target uses the same number for the entire life of the line.
IE: There will be the same DPCI for all waves of DotM Dlx. class figs. so even if you are in a Target where an employee will bring out a case for you from the stockroom (which isn't as easy as it used to be, for me at least) you'll never know if the case they bring out will be wave 1, 7 or anything in between. It's DPCI; Department, Class, Item. Oh, heh, that'd probably be why I didn't see much matches (but there were still some). I always get that one mixed up. This is true, though I thought the exclusives might have their own code. Any idea if that's happened in the past? Say, for the Robo-Vision Prime; maybe the DPCI was reused for later Voyagers. |

Codes are for assortments, so exclusive assortments have their own code. They don't share them with full-retail releases.
And since all the movie toys are starting with Wave 1, it would be pretty handy to have a list of the new DPCIs! -------------------- |

Yeah these are the only times DPCI's come in handy at the start of a line, for exclusives, or for a new assortment (not a new wave).
Also if the DPCI is strictly for 1 figure. Randy -------------------- ![]() |

The entire line is street dated anyway. Even with DPCIs, stores aren't supposed to sell them before then.
Yes, I've seen a couple of cases already. No, I don't intend to write down the numbers. -------------------- ![]() |

The "good" thing about Target though is that unlike Toys R Us and Wal-Mart is that they don't "lock out" street dated merchadise from their POS system.
That's how I got my Thor 3 3/4" inch movie line figs. 2-3 weeks before Hasbro's street date. I checked the price scanner which told they had some in the back and then I gave an employee the DPCI and he brought me out a sealed case without him ever noticing the street date marking on the shipping carton. Late last year TRUs were putting out the new LEGO Ninjago line but every time I brought one of the sets up to the register the system kicked out a message of "Do Not Sell Before 1/1/2011". I really wanted those sets but I had to wait until Jan. 1st. Your friend, TSM-in-N.Y. "What do you hunt with a knife like this?" -------------------- KEEP THE BEATS PHRESH YO! TSM-in-N.Y.

I wonder how vigilant stores are in regards to making sure things are actually put on the sales floor on their sale date? Probably pretty vigilant, I would guess.

I wonder how vigilant stores are in regards to making sure things are actually put on the sales floor on their sale date? Probably pretty vigilant, I would guess. They seem to pretty reliably stock the shelves, and then not let you buy the product for a few weeks. Around here, anyway. I already found a couple pegs full of Speed Stars at a TRU in NY that wouldn't ring up. -------------------- |
