So I was looking around the board and notice no one was talking about this show. Did everyone miss it?

I thought it was ok, had some interesting things in it like RF Boba Fett, unpunched SW figs, prototype Thundercats, ect. There were some bugs with editing and such but it was the pilot episode anway, always bugs in the begining. I think I would like it to be a series myself, but still no word on it yet.

I know it's being rebroadcast as well (Sunday at 6pm I think, but don't hold me to that yet).

I have not seen it or even heard of it but I will check this out. I have shamefully been getting addicted to American Pickers and American Restoration on the History Channel so I can see liking this as well.

Thanks for the heads up.

I never even heard of the show. I'll see if I have the channel when I get home.

It was one episode, there isn't a series yet but the guy who was on it is hoping for one.

I liked it, but thought he was offering too little for the MASK stuff (which he said predates Transformers - though MASK didn't come out until 1985 so he obviously doesn't know his facts).

It was a fun watch. I was at NYCC but didn't notice his table.

The host has a Twitter account and is trying to get people to give Travel Channel feedback over Facebook after the show rebroadcasts this Sunday. From the tweets I read, the idea to make it a horrible American Pickers ripoff was Travel Channel's doing, and the host didn't like how the show came out as a result. He was saying if the show continues he wants to make it focus on the history of the toys, rather than trying to make money from them. I figure all of that would help quite a bit, if I didn't want to punch the guy in the face any time he started speaking.

And Kal, what's so shameful about American Pickers and American Restoration?

I saw an RiD Basic Prime somewhere in the Tomart section.

I liked the show and what it set out to do but by the end of the pilot, I just wanted to shoot the host in the moutn.

Sounds like my take on the US version of Cash In The Attic.

"Let's take this highly valuable but highly obscure collector's item and stick it in the Podunk County auction!"

So many people got cheated out of so much money because of that...

There isn't one scrap of information on this show on Travel Channel's website... but I did confirm on TVGuide's website that it's showing on Sunday like you say.

I thought I'd look on Hulu or other sites where you can get TV Shows that have aired *looks around* and I couldn't even find it there.

From the reviews, it seems like a fascinating show. Though with episode 1 featuring Rocket Fett and Mad Bubbler, what more of that caliber is there to chase if the program does get extended?

Also, yeah, you don't go into Tomart's HQ and try to lowball them on toys. They KNOW how much stuff is worth.

It's sweetly poignant to think of ex-Kenner designers keeping cases of the toys they designed. Really does make you wonder what else is out there for someone's sentimental value...
