So Megatron's head was... I'm assuming by what happens during the flashback in this preview... shot off during AHM. No two Megatrons or anything more interesting to explain the Megatron head at the end of #14. I haven't checked again but didn't we see Megatron's head on him during the Uneasy Lies The Head storyline? I'll be interested in seeing what hoops IDW editors go through to defend the blatant continuity error. Also, Megatron's arm when he is being carried away by Starscream is colored blue. Its a pretty obvious mistake so why wasn't it picked up once the coloring was finished by either the colorist or the editor? Mistakes happen, sure, but its still wrong to leave a mistake in when it should have been detected before the issue went to print. This post has been edited by Bass X0: Jan 5 2011, 06:39 PM |

Nick Roche's covers make the story within look so much more interesting than it actually is.

No two Megatrons or anything more interesting to explain the Megatron head at the end of #14. That... is dumb. Megatron was shot in the head, but it did not fall off in AHM. Had it fallen off, he'd be dead. Even IDW TFs cannot survive if the head is destroyed (see poor Runamuck's fate, or the cerebro-bullets in LSTOW). I mean, the Megatron they brough back to the Nemesis would be essentially brain-dead. No way does shooting off his head would result in a split personality... he doesn't have a second brain in his chest or so... Oh well, here goes the interesting theory from Commander Shockwav that HIGHLIGHT to view: the new stealth bomber Megatron is actually Shockwave. Forgoing an interesting plot twist for a lame explanation that somehow still manages to contradict prior canon?
That doesn't sound like IDW at all. But seriously with Hasbro's HUB push and commissioning worthwhile fiction that people enjoy and look forward to I can't see IDW hanging on to the license for that much longer when they keep putting out stuff like this. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-wildride.gif) You overestimate the standards of the average comic book reader. However, given Alex Milne is taking over pencilling duties in a couple of issues, I'm inclined to agree. (I'd once said I wouldn't start believing IDW's getting desperate until Milne would start pencilling the main book, and here we are now) This post has been edited by Detour: Jan 4 2011, 06:19 AM -------------------- QUOTE You're far too young to be this bitter and angry at the world.... ![]() |

Much as I wish it would, despite dreading Yet Another Reboot. -------------------- |

Action? Such things are rarities within the realm of Mike Costa's penmanship.

Man. Those first three pages are a huge turn-off. That woman's neck is all sorts of gangly. Figueora. Does not do humans at all.

Don't forget that Don is also incapable of drawing animals. BW anyone?
And I still hate his TF designs. This whole head fiasco is ridiculous. If IDW ever hopes to launch themselves into the same sphere as Marvel and DC, they should know better than to treat ongoing stories this way. It's insulting to anyone who's made the effort to follow along all this time. -------------------- If You Even Dream Of Beating Me, You'd Better Wake Up And Apologise.

Especially since this is by the same writer who did Uneasy Lies The Head. Hey, this is the same writer who thought Spotlight Prowl provided a good explanation for Prowl's actions in Ongoing #1. The guy clearly has no idea how to write a good comic. -------------------- QUOTE You're far too young to be this bitter and angry at the world.... ![]() |

I'm a bit a defender of ongoing, Its not great but I enjoy it. But if the explanation for the extra head really is "it was shot off during AHM." when it never was and we had an issue not that long ago showing him with a head, by the same writer, then I think even I will have lost all hope for this.

You overestimate the standards of the average comic book reader. "It's a COMIC with TRANSFORMERS in it! And it's full of action! What's there not to like?" I wish. Its all dialogue. Bunch of Transformers sitting around talking, and then alternating back to a bunch humans sitting around talking. And whats more there all WHINING. I wish this series was all action at least it'd be fast moving. These comics are boring, lethargic and completely uninspired. God I'm sick of this rubbish. I hope they do lose their license. QUICK EDIT: Just look at the blinking cover! Soundwave and Starscream arguing. Thats what this whole bloody series is about, people sitting around arguing. End this series now and end our misery! I remember, back at the beginning of "Escalation," when I was really excited about the new Transformers series...there was subterfuge, interesting human characters, a sense of something really big looming on the horizon...what happened?

Dear IDW. If you want to get people to like your comics again, please get rid of Costa. If that is not possible for some reason, please give up your license.

Yeeeah. Even if i was excited by IDWs overal direction this preview is pretty aweful. Boring wealky drawn human heads talking about dull things for pages. THATS not how you sell a book about an awesome alien robot war.
