My fiancé got a PS3 last year, mostly for Tomb Raider Underworld. Neither of us have really been keeping up with game releases for the last couple of years, so can anyone recommend a good multiplayer game for the console? Preferably one that's fun for two players and just using the one console?

Ideally something along the lines of Mario Kart or SSX, nothing too serious or overly complex.

Any help would be appreciated, at least to give us some idea of what to look into.

Sorry, should have been clearer, not online stuff, since she's not got web access for the PS3.

Just stuff that can be played by the two of us together on the same console, I've got a 360, so we can't even use system link games.

I enjoyed Army of Two's multi-player, both co-op and adversarial, but I wouldn't pay more than $30-40 for it because the game clocks in at only around ten hours if you do absolutely everything. However, the replay value is high.

I've been enjoying playing Co-op on Resident Evil 5, but that might not be what you're looking for.

Of course, there's always the fighting games: Street Fighter IV, Soul Calibur IV, Virtua Fighter V, MK vs. DC. I don't play too many racing games, so I can't really help you there.

Can you play that with just one PS3 though? Thought it was only online/system link co op?

What do you actually do on that game anyhow? It never really looked that interesting from the trailers so neither of us took much notice of it, and she finds the bagboys or what have you ugly. I was under the impression it was a kind of DIY game, building a level from scratch and running around it after your done.

As I say, we don't want anything too involved, just something you can have fun mucking around with from the get go.

LBP is one of the most uncomplicated games out there. you basically just run from left to right jumping around.

You can customize your sackboy to look however you want. You can paint them whatever color you want. You can dress them up with the outfit pieces they give you. You can put flowers on their heads, etc. My friend dressed his to look like a lion, I look like a school girl, etc.

There are tons of things to unlock.

If you're open to RE5 then I can't see why you would dismiss LBP. The game is infinitely easier, more fun, and much much cuter.

The game has a DIY feature, but that's not the full game. It has regular levels like any other game out there. It's like playing a story book.

They give you complete control of your sackboys arms and head when you click and hold one of the buttons. This lets you dance, headbang, or just be able to smack your friend around when they walk past you.

It actually supports 4 player coop on 1 ps3.

You want something you can muck around with from the get go? LBP is interactive as soon as you start on the title screen. You have to run through a level built for the title and the developer credits in order to get to the beginning of the game.

Just read some reviews out there and you'll see.

You can play RE5 Split screen. My friend stopped by yesterday and we got a chance to go play through the first two chapters. While it was fun, I wasn't used to playing split screen, and I wouldn't recommend it if you have a small TV.
