This will probably make many of you both pleased and irritated.
http://www.deadline.com/2013/05/warehouse-...n-syfy-renewal/ QUOTE Syfy has renewed flagship drama Warehouse 13 for a fifth season, which will be its last. Production on the final six-episode installment of the series, on which Jack Kenny serves as executive producer/showrunner, will begin in Toronto this summer for a 2014 run. “Warehouse 13 has been an incredible signature series for us,” said Syfy President of Original Content Mark Stern. “We are grateful to the loyal and passionate fan base and know that Jack Kenny, his gifted creative team, and outstanding ensemble cast will give them an amazing finale season.” Saul Rubinek, Eddie McClintock, Joanne Kelly, Allison Scagliotti and Aaron Ashmore star in the drama from Universal Cable Prods.

To this day, I still don't understand why Syfy continues to kill shows in their Prime.....

I didn't much care for last season, and this season has kinda been mediocre (except of course the episode with James Marsters. Nothing with him in it is ever mediocre (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-fire.gif) ).
So it will be sad to see it go, but in my eyes it's already been winding down a bit anyway. -------------------- |

I think shorter seasons hurt. I was barely getting into last season and it was gone. I feel like the same is true this season.
I wish SyFy would at least develop a decent replacement for them. -ZacWilliam, that will leave Face Off and Haven as the last shows I watch on SyFy. -------------------- Ever wonder about the speed of Turbofoxes?

-ZacWilliam, that will leave Face Off and Haven as the last shows I watch on SyFy. Add in Being Human and I suppose that true for me too, since the other shows I watch on there aren't really SyFy shows. (Lost Girl, Continuum, Merlin. Although Merlin is ending now too.) I'll probably tune into the new Primeval too, since I liked the first couple series of the UK show. (You know, before it got terrible.) -------------------- |

However, S4 is 20 eps, so this brings the five season run to 65 episodes.
To get a 6th season, you generally have to renegotiate with all the principals (hence stuff like Lex Luthor being killed off in Smallville), which Syfy seems allergic to. ---Dave --------------------

I'll probably tune into the new Primeval too, since I liked the first couple series of the UK show. (You know, before it got terrible.) I'll tune in for that probably, but the fact that it was already canceled after one season kind of makes it hard to build enthusiasm. -ZacWilliam, UK Primeval was one of those shows that was never "great" but was interesting and entertaining anyway, and then slowly fell more and more apart when actor after actor leaving caused all the plot they tried to build to fall apart and never go anywhere... Unfortunate but hardly tragic. They're getting six episodes to wrap things up to a proper conclusion; that's more than many shows get.

Yeah. I came on board during at the start of season 2 and went back and got caught up and have been watching ever since. But this is the kind of show that I feel like the story has been told so ending it isn't such a bad thing. The formula of tracking down the artifacts or saving the entire world can only be done so many times before it becomes stale. I think I was more upset about Eureka getting pulled since they still had a lot they could do with the new time line.
So Eureka, Warehouse 13 and Alphas are all gone now, which means there's nothing left in that universe. I'm glad Being Human became it's own thing and stayed away from the crap that the British version turned into. And Defiance is finding its feet I think. I'd say that show won't last long given how expensive it looks (more so than all the other SyFy shows that are already gone) |

Agreed on all counts Kalidor.
Eureka deserved so much more. I gave up on Being Human UK after Season 3. Really didn't care for how they wiped everyone but Annie in the first episode of S4. Especially killing one offscreen. Then had the ghost 'move on' at the end of S4. And i really like Defiance, but i dread SyFy axing it because of cost and killing yet more great Sci-Fi TV. What bugged me most about SyFys final Eureka season was their habit of reeling of twitters from people who loved the show. With their accompanying line being 'yeah we love the show too'. All i could think was 'if you really loved it you wouldn't be killing it'. As for Warehouse 13? So long as they get to HAVE an ending, it will take the sting out of it going. As to the Eureka/Warehouse/Alphas shared universe. Apart from some neat if fluffy crossover episode, what did the shows gain from it? Confusion about why the Warehouse 13 guys thought weirdness was ALWAYS an artifact, when it could also have been an Alpha.

There really wasn't anything gained from it other than just the ability to share stories sometimes. Alpha's never really got too involved in either show since it was so short lived. I just liked having them all exist because it shows that weird stuff is going on all the time with everything and no telling how many groups are dealing with it.

Since they only crossed over after the Eureka timeline change, I always thought it would have been neat if we had gotten an idea of what Warehouse 13 was like in the original timeline. They could have had some fun playing with characters and continuity.
