Also, willing to reference "The Aristocrats". That made me choke on my Grape Crush.

Wait, what?

When Jamie's flipping through channels, one of them has a standup comedian saying "...it's called 'The Aristocrats.'"

Yep. Some early reviewers made a subtle hint that it referenced 'the dirtiest joke in the world'. I guess CN thought kids might google 'the Aristocrats' or something. Only Canadians got the original line.

The US version has the comedian saying "To get to the other side".

So I'm a pretty big fan of Batman: TAS and JLU, and even The Batman. I love the serious, sometimes downright mature and gritty stories told within those iterations.

That said - This was pretty much AWESOME. Loved this entire first episode, and I cannot wait to see more. It's funny without stooping to lowbrow humor or kid-centric jokes. It's action-filled without being rip-and-tear violent. It's campy without being embarrassing to watch. And the animation is pretty much amazing. I think I will be a fan, oh yes.

Huh? Are you saying Blue Beetle is voiced by Will Friedle? If that's the case, then my interest in this went up a bit.

He sure is. He's considerably more Ron than he is Terry, too.

I laughed when I saw Batman's mask didn't cover his head. All in all, another solid action cartoon from Cartoon Network. Despite the Canadian crap like Johnny Test, it's still the most (if not only) solid kid's network around. Not as good as it's heyday with Johnny Bravo and such, but still the best one.

Yeah, but he's seriously doing his Ron Stoppable voice unchanged, and he even feels a little like Ron, without the bizarre side.

Didn't he also voice Terry in Batman Beyond?

It is definitly not TAS. It is more....well the Adam West Batman but with some TAS feel to it. I'm not too sure about Batman's voice but it definitly works for this style of cartoon. The fact that they seem to be using some charactyers that haven't been seen in the DCAU actually makes me somewhat happy.

Ironbite-can't wait to see more.

His voice seemed very TSA to me.

No, it's Diedrich Bader, not Kevin Conroy.

I know but it seemed like Diedrich Bader, doing a Kevin Conroy homage.

If there is a benevolent force controlling the Universe please see to it that we get an episode wherein Batman teams up with The Question.

Thank you.

Ironbite-or Plastic Man getting eaten by a T-Rex.

And this is why Plastic Man is the best superhero ever.

I finally got to watch the most recent episode last night, and it was pretty good. Although, I wish that Conroy could have done the voice. I'm just so used to him doing the voice for animated Batman that it seems wrong for him not to be.

I like my Batman like I like my beer.

Dark and bitter.

With that said I can't believe how much I'm enjoying this series, everything about it seems to exist to shine a big ol' spotlight on how absurd the costumed superhero concept really is.

Looking at a lot of the characters they have planned for the first season also I'm loving how deliciously Z-list the lineup is.

Adam Strange, Dr. Fate, Red Tornado, Felix Faust...Calendar Man! It's a who's who of characters nobody cares about enough to make an animated series about.

If nothing else, Batman just looks so adorable in his wee little cape.

Whoah there boyo....I happen to think Dr. Fate is an A-list character, definitly not Z-list.

Ironbite-and Calendar Man will hug stuff up...just you watch.

Yeah, Dr. Fate and Felix Faust might not be A-listers (Fate Maybe), but are at least C list. Both seem to have gotten quite a bit of media exposure the past few years, espically thanks to the Justice League cartoons.
