This guy needs some serious touching up, mainly an over coat of red, but I haven't had time to buy new paints so I figured I'd throw him up as is. My biggest complaint about some Punch/Counterpunch customs are the hands. He should have two sets, built in, as opposed to loose parts. I hate that, and even though I clearly see that his car mode isn't snapped together, it does, and everything fits inside him. I'll probably take a better picture of his car later, but I didn't make the custom for the car mode anyways, so there you go.

And, as you've noticed, I had to hack off part of him to reveal Counterpunch's face, but a similiar pet peeve to the hands issue are parts that come off for no reason, so, I gave that piece one. Two robots, two different weapons.

Cool idea, and it works really well as Punch/Counterpunch. I like that each robot mode looks pretty distinct; too many P/CP customs don't go far enough in that regard, but this does! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-ironhide.gif)

I've got my own custom in the pipe for that mold. It's really versatile!

That works surprisingly well.

...although it's PRIME P/CP and PRIME Wheeljack (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-arcee.gif)

Thanks! And I agree. Once I saw what I could do to the legs I was in love.

I really like the way you solved the yawned issue!

What kind of paints are you using?

What's a yawned issue?

I like the concept but the paint application feels.. off to me. Like maybe it's too thick?

Thanks! If only I could get more natural elbow movement out of Counterpunches arms, but whatever.

I used all citadel paints on this guy. Golden Yellow mixed with some white, and then coated over again. Enchanted Blue. Chaos Black. Red Gore and Mechrite Red (and I'm obviously lacking my final, brighter red coat.)

The paints not too thick, the god damned nail polish is. I like my customs to be transformable and playable with essentially 0 paint scratching, and clear nail polish does wonders once it hardens. Unfortunately, I used an older container by mistake causing the stupid gloppy effect you're noticing. Its another reason I haven't touched him up yet, because that mistake almost took me out of the project, but I felt my idea was strong enough to justify his existence. But yeah, I know exactly what you're talking about Kal.

I like the rotating forearms with the different hands at each end. That's really clever!

I was talking about the hands. No idea what my phone was thinking.
Anyway... Nail polish?!
If you're using Citadel you should just buy their clear varnish. It goes on thin and smooth.
Also the thinner the layers the more durable the paint.

But in the end I suggest switched to higher grade model paint like Tamiya or Model Masters. Those are more durable than Citadel's chalky paints.

Usually the nail polish works fine if its not old, like the mistake I made here, but yeah, once I use up these citadels I'll give Tamiya and Model Masters a shot. Its hard to turn down free paints, so that kinda steered me in their direction. Next time I'm out I'll grab some of their varnish.

And I've already addressed his hands, but Punch's head is PCC Searchlight's combiner head. Its a movie/animated hybrid that I couldn't resist using.
