I am so excited about this Megatron. He looks like they took the best parts Animated and Movie version.

... These are very similar to Animated designs.

Seriously. The smirks? The helmet pieces as noses? The flat shiny face pieces inside the helmet frame? The general builds? They're more partsy yes, but they're clearly derived from Animated. They have to same feel as animated. They're designed with the same sensibilities as Animated.

... I doubt for a while all I'll be thinking while watching this will be

"and this is why we lost Animated?"

I just hope it isn't movie quality writing, and Cybertron CGI

Because then we'd have three robots with primary red.

I don't remember anyone on Animated looking so...sharp. Even Raf looks pretty sharp, like I'd cut myself on him.

Obviously there are some stylistic differences. But even Animated had the pointyness. Cybertron Starscream, Megatron, and Blitzwing. Sari's hair and extremities. Parts of Lockdown.

And look at Ratchet and Cliffjumper. Very smooth. Very heroic looking. Lots of rounded edges on Ratchet.

The only thing bothering me about Prime is how close down to the wire this thing seems to be.

They're throwing out a promo for the network, and advertising this show with it, and STILL all they have to show is the little clip from SDCC?

Normally I might not be concerned, and I'm not doom saying, but Transformers has had the unfortunate fact of rushed productions shooting themselves in the foot in the past.

But, eh. We'll see. XD;

I'm not seeing it. It's too good a blend between Bay and Animated. There's just way too much Bay to say these are just like Animated. They're just not.

Wait where are you guys seeing Megatorn?

Anyway, love the designs, they're like Animated except with actual detail and richer coloring.

Let me see if I can't show you.

Look, here's a outline of both Ani Bee and Prime Cliffjumper's head designs. They have to same basic structure and nearly the same shape!

It's all in how the show is written. The designs may reflect the terrible Bayformers, but I'll be happy as long as it's not written for little kids like Animated or infantile intellects like ROTF.

Ironic that you would compare a character as cute as Bumblebee to the most terrifying looking Autobot in Prime. Seriously, Cliffjumper is one grim-looking 'bot. As for the shapes, there are broad, sweeping similarities, but that's where the similarities end.

Ah well, what does it matter? We're stuck with this, like it or not. Too bad I'll probably be in my late '30s before we get another clean break.

and even if it is grim, so what? Flareup's stock art is of her in a perpetual scowl.
