Well, it might be out on June 29 July 7, 2011, next week. So check your listings.

Why the 7th in stead of the 6th is because July 4th is on Monday, for those that forgot.

Jolt was killed off by Shockwave in the "Rising Storm" miniseries. It's available as a trade paperback now, so you should be able to find it in that format at a big name bookstore like Borders or Barnes and Noble.

As for Arcee? If you go with the comics, two of the three bikes (Arcee herself and Chromia) are alive, and Elita-1 is dead. If you go with the word from the film's writers and director, all three are dead.

Also check out "Foundation". It's also out now as a trade paperback.

You can find the comics at...comic book stores, I guess. TFWiki.net has all the information on the expanded universe, however.

Thanks for the information. Just had a lot of questions coming out of DOTM are those two comics the only ones out there with expanded information on the films and in what order do they go. Thanks again.

Well, if you're really eager for comics from the entire movieverse, then check out the rest of IDW's productions.

The first film had a four-issue prequel series, as well as a single issue released much later that put together two comics that had been distributed at Target. Not sure where you can get the last one, but the other four are available in a trade that you should be able to get online (or if you're really lucky, a big name book store or your local comic shop).

After the first film came the five-issue Reign of Starscream miniseries, which is arguably one of the best comics produced based on the films. It's out as a trade - check the usual places.

Following that were the two prequel series for Revenge of the Fallen, "Alliance" and "Defiance". Both were four-issue series; the first chronicled the events leading up to RotF from RoS, while the second showed the early days of the war between the Autobots and the Decepticons and how Megatron came to be under the influence of the Fallen. Both are available as trades.

Next was the six-issue Tales of the Fallen miniseries, with each issue taking place in assorted gaps in the timeline - the first two during the events of Alliance (focusing on Bumblebee and Sideswipe), the next two in the very distant past (focusing on Jetfire and the Fallen), and the last two either a period after the film (Ravage) or before the events of Alliance but after RoS (Arcee). It should be out as a trade.

After that was the six-issue Nefarious miniseries. Probably the worse movie comic released to date based on general opinion, but still part of the canon - it follows on from Ravage's "Tales" issue, and some of the details are picked up on in the recent Rising Storm miniseries. Again, hunt for the trade.

After that came the Sector 7 miniseries, which expanded upon the story for that organization with parts in the late 1800's all the way up to the 1950's, and did some gentle retconning of events from the first prequel miniseries with the "Ghosts of Yesterday" novel.

Next came Rising Storm and Foundation, the two most recent miniseries. Beyond them and the stuff I've previously mentioned, I suggest tracking down the two prequel novels (the aforementioned "Ghosts of Yesterday" and "The Veiled Threat") plus the individual issues for the adaptation of DOTM. The former two are canon with IDW's comics, while the latter includes prose pieces which continue where the S7 series left off with gentle retcons and continuity straightening.

It's a bit overwhelming, I know, but look at the bright side - it's mostly in trade paperback format, so that makes things slightly easier, yes?

So, having now read Convergence, part 4.

I don't think there's any outstanding continuity niggles left that need addressing.

Heck. You know how Soundwave found out where Shockwave was?

THAT NEWSPAPER ARTICLE EASTER EGG IN ROTF. Seriously, he got a copy off of Voskhod.

Barber is a god.

He did a great job in addressing the continuity mess that are the 3 movies. (Maybe Bay should have hired him to write the script, hmm?)

The whole time travel thing still makes little sense, and they haven't addressed why the Cons on the moon overslept the Fallen's attack, when it was Soundwave who put them in hibernation, and he was active at the time. Or the whole mess about the Fallen's plan (all Primes need to be dead) clashing with Megatron's plan (Sentinel had to be alive for the space bridges to work).

I liked how 'Alice' got so much characterization (it really makes me wish she got a toy) and how the writere managed to give even the goofy Simmons some tragic backstory.

I've assumed for a while now that the 'Cons on the moon, per IDW's "expanded universe" were NOT sleeping there since the 60s/70s, but gathered there post-ROTF (those that are mentioned as being put into stasis by Soundwave in Convergence are on the Longshot, and are awakened by Starscream in Alliance to search the Earth for the harvester). And having poked at John Barber's Twitter just now, I see that's actually his stance on it too.

I read this issue (and #3) today. Convergence has been a neat, and really essential, story. It's the only reason is passed on the TPB for the movie adaptation.

Also, I feel like this is the only one of the thee movie adaptions worth reading. Even the art, while certainly messy in some spots, has some truly great spots.

I liked the ambiguity about Megatron's fate. Showing him standing amidst the burning wreckage, then a close-up on Prime's face... We are left wondering whether OP let him go or killed him. Also, I much prefer this version of Sentinel's death - he still gets to say his final lines, but dies from the wounds inflicted on him by OP and Megs, there is no cold-blooded execution scene.
