I'm a little surprised we havn't gotten an "Anime head" Blaster yet with a new sculpt minus the toy/comic's visor. Well, not surprised really, BB and Optimus are the only one's who have really gotten that treatment and Blaster isn't quite in their league, but it would be another option.


-ZacWilliam, grew up with Marvel Comic's Blaster and misses the days when he was an important, if brooding, aft-kicker. He and Fort Max were once major heroes and have been kinda left behind by modern fiction. Maybe in Regeneration 1....

Got mine today, they're quite great. The figures are awesome and I love the packaging.

A couple things, obviously there are the color changes to Soundblaster's (red visor, all silver face, no silver on head crest) and Twincast's (gold face, blue eyes) heads. I think this was mentioned but every single sticker on the originals is now a paint app on both (except for the stripes on Soundblaster's weapons, being unpaintable plastic, they're preapplied stickers). Soundblaster's gray is more flat this time around and Twincast's blue is a bit darker than the e-Hobby version. Twincast's door is indeed a retooled version of the original Twincast's, keeping the same depth but not the etched details (an Autobot symbol is tampoed over it). The yellow is slightly different too.

Enemy's blue is quite dark (looks almost black in some lights). Rather than gold chrome on his chest he has gold paint. Two of the circles on his chest are left unpainted (likely because the rub symbol on his chest covers most of both of them) and the gold detail on his belt buckle is just a gold outline rather than completely filled in. He has silver striping on his arms Rumble & Frenzy lack.

At first glance Wingthing is just a straight pallete swap with Rat Bat, but (like Enemy) there are subtle differences in the paint layout. The shapes of Wingthing's eyes are different than Ratbat's, and he lacks the 60 in tape mode (plus other slight font and text differences). His orange is similar to Sundor's (for those that have him) he's a bit brighter though.

Stripes is pretty cool, following the same paint layout (with slight changes) as Ravage except all in orange and silver (some of the text is in black too). The gold wings look pretty sweet on him and I love all the stripes on the B side.

Nighstalker is just super sexy to me. I love, and I mean love, how his tape mode is mean to mimic Ravage's rather than being based on Steeljaw's. With the Ravage missiles he looks like a beefed up version of everyone's favorite Cassette Kitty. He's a bit darker than Ravage, so it does add some uniqueness to him.

When these figures were first announced I was a little hesitant to get them, but once the Cassettes were revealed it ended up a no brainer. I'm really glad I was able to get these and I think people are going to be in for a real treat even if they have the original Twincast and/or Soundblaster.

$73 / £46 with free shipping from Hong Kong to the U.K. a good deal for the Twincast set? Just paid for on Ebay yesterday. Never had any of these three molds before suprisingly.
