... So they wasted what could have been a really good question like "If the retailers don't accept the upcoming Animated toys, will you distribute them through Hasbro Toy Shop?" or "Are there any plans for Voyager and/or Deluxe molds for Scrapper and Hightower?" for something they won't answer? BRILLIANT! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-blitz.gif) I would honestly expect the above answers if any to have been a noncommital we are actively looking for an outlet for these toys and there are no plans at this time for the voyagers, respectively. Anyhow, we got a few interesting answers out of them. The car mold once and for all definitely trumps who the character is in alternators, and that was an interesting mini essay on the Fallen. I hope Human Alliance does well as that could churn out some interesting bots. Bumblebee with Spike, Kicker with Ironhide(Hahahahahahagodno), Sari and Bumblee? Bumblebee lends himself really well to these type pairings..... Daniel and Hotrod or Arcee I could see being considered...but one would mean a G1 Arcee, which would break the cosmos. -------------------- Signature? I don't need no stinking signature.

QUOTE(Hasbro) The complex nature of the multiverse demands much from singular creatures like the Fallen, Primus, Unicron, the 13, etc. These beings are of a fundamentally different nature from regular individuals, who are repeated endlessly throughout the infinite variation of creation. They must be designed or evolved to deal with certain situations that would drive lesser beings mad. First of all, time flows differently from dimension to dimension. By necessity, this makes it possible for creatures like the Fallen to appear to exist in two places at the same time. Second, whole new universes are spawned every moment by the resolution of quantum uncertainty. Most of these universes are dead ends that exist for only a few seconds or minutes at most, and encompass only a few critical moments. Therefore, at certain critical junctures, the Fallen becomes a quantum event, experiencing two or more possible outcomes at once, until one of those outcomes proves to be a dead end and collapses. The Fallen then reverts back to the "real" universe. Every story has dozens or hundreds of endings we never see. But the Fallen sees them. One of the side effects of the Fallen's quantum nature is that his appearance changes slightly from dimension to dimension, based on the expectations of others, and the unique history he has (or has not) established in a particular dimension. He is also bound by the "rules" (gravity, magnetism, etc.) of any dimension in which appears – many of which rules he may have actually helped shape when the multiverse was young. So if time flows backwards in a certain dimension, he is bound to live and experience – forgetting as he goes along – everything backwards. Smart and savvy dimensional travelers spend time in reverse timescale dimensions, slow-time dimensions, or dimensions in which time does not move at all. This ensures that even if they are "killed," they continue to exist. As you can see, the idea of sequential experience as you and I understand it is pretty meaningless to guys like the Fallen. He does experience all these things, but his mind operates on a higher order so all of this stuff totally makes sense to him. -------------------- QUOTE(Hasbro) Paramount Home Entertainment will be releasing RANSFORMERS CYBERTRON on 9.13.05 ![]() Buy my Mini-Pla Goseiger Candy Toy Zords! |

I wonder if they plan on doing anything with The 13(besides Nexus Maximus) soon. Since they seem so adamant about sticking with the multiversal singularity idea(which I like).
Edit: To clarify, Soon= anytime in the next five years. ...Human Alliance does well as that could churn out some interesting bots. Bumblebee with Spike, Kicker with Ironhide(Hahahahahahagodno), Sari and Bumblee? Bumblebee lends himself really well to these type pairings..... Bumblebee+Sari+ a potentially tramsfornable scooter/jetpack would be cool. Although I would like to see an Animated Human Alliance Tux that comce with Porter C. Powell and/or his robot driver. QUOTE I would have preferred the much simpler "No, only Primus and Unicron are multiversal singularites. They're gods, so this makes sense for them. Normal transformers, even the 13, exist within their own universe even if they have analogues in other universes that are very similar." But that's not the correct answer. For Hasbro, I know it's not correct. I think that's clear in my original post. The alternative I put forth is what I'd prefer, not what's actually the case. And anyway, this whole "If you're a member of the 13/7/whatever/who cares what number, then you're a multiversal singularity" thing suggests that Optimus, too, could be a multiversal singularity, since he's a Prime in the movieverse. He's not an original one, but he's their heir, and that might mean inheriting their multiversal singularitiness. Which obviously causes problems, seeing as how the Optimus Primes of the different continuites are clearly different people/characters (you can see a great contrast between Animated Optimus and Movie Optimus, for example). Optimus Prime is a multiversal singularity. Or at least Convoy is (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-fire.gif) Seriously, if you think that Hasbro's rather straight forward explanation is convoluted, read the Alternity story. -------------------- |

Looks like the legends class is going to be the best scale for the constructicons.
I'll still try to pick up the voyager class guys. I already have Rampage. This post has been edited by Silent_Magnus: Aug 11 2009, 10:36 AM -------------------- |

I haven't seen so much technobabble since Voyager...and it STILL managed to explain things. Kudos Hasbro kudos. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-ironhide.gif) Not technobabble, the basics of quantum mechanics. It's an actual scientifically sound explanation! |

Actionfigs Q&A http://www.actionfigs.com/index.php?catego..._articleid=2471 No Scrapper and Hightower, since they didn't get much, if any, screen time as robots. I can sorta understand that. But it pisses me off. I'm getting REALLY tired of characters that appear in a show/movie not getting toys. Maybe Hasbro needs to exert more control over how many characters appear on screen if they have no intention of making more than a certain number into toys. -------------------- ![]() |

Which, when you boil it down, amounted to saying "Yes, they're singularities, but it doesn't actually matter, as the writers can still give them whatever different origins and histories they want" in a really cool sort of way. |

Wow, the Actionfigs Q&A questions sure did come off as whiny. Man, no kidding. I can't believe they answered my Tfwiki.net question. What a glorious, triumphant bulljive-storm that was to witness. I agree, that was really cool to see. Although it made about as much sense as it would've if they'd just said "No plans." (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-fire.gif) EDIT: It's also interesting to see that it wasn't just us - they didn't answer that other site's (forget which) question about the vulgarity/violence of the movie as it related to Optimus Prime. I think this is just one of those things that was out of Hasbro's hands and in those of the studio, and that they're just giving a wide, wide berth so that they don't have to get dragged into that debate. Smart move for them on that one. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-ironhide.gif) This post has been edited by Galenraff: Aug 11 2009, 11:17 AM |

It blows my mind that we get an many off-screen toys as we do, but then not all of the characters actually in the film. I'd love at least a deluxe Scrapper. -------------------- ![]() |

That first answer seems like a brush-off. "what contributes to a character being chosen for a leader-class figure?" "WE'RE NOT MAKING BLACKOUT/GRINDOR, DAMMIT!" -------------------- |
