If anyone's at the con, can they put question screening in the suggestion box? A lot of the questions on this panel where great, but they really need to start screening to get rid of the guys who want to ramble on or the guys that want to ask questions that belong in a different place. I remember being at the Voice Actors panels in '07 and '08 and it was all people asking the actors to say things in a voice. Not sure if it was that way this year, but that kind of stuff annoyed the heck out of me.
Anyway, that multiple multiverse stuff is really cool to me. Glad to see them letting these stories exist on their own without all the baggage of the original multiverse. |

Yeah, that certainly seemed like it needed to be in the super secret panel alright. -------------------- ***Signature removed by Staff due to size restrictions. Wow. I can't believe we didn't get any other toy reveals. Generations will continue. But no pics of anything beyond the current releases? None?

This "multiple multiverses" bulljive is so much more trouble than it's worth. They should just tell the story. If the religious prehisotory is important, include it. If it isn't important enough for inclusion, don't write confusing contradictory binding rules for its sake. -------------------- The TFWiki: when just five Infernos aren't enough. http://www.tfwiki.net

ZacWilliam, I know we've been spoiled, but still that's... I think the paradigm for these panels is changing. Instead of having two panels that are basically about the same thing(just one more gobstopper-y than the other) they have two panels that focus and different aspects. Didn't we already get a lot of super early stuff yesterday with all of that Prime news? This post has been edited by Silent_Magnus: Jun 5 2011, 04:21 PM -------------------- |

And... did they really show the same Original 13 concept art that they did at the same panel last year? -------------------- The TFWiki: when just five Infernos aren't enough. http://www.tfwiki.net

ZacWilliam, I know we've been spoiled, but still that's... This is a brand and story panel. There were never going to be any toy reveals. It's a completely different panel than the one last year. That being said, I'm not too upset to not see new generations stuff. It gives the movie line and the prime line room to breath. I'm more upset not to see more movie stuff, but I understand that's paramount's doing, not Hasbro's. I just wished they scheduled BotCon in July if they couldn't show anything new. But, we got Prime Toys, Unicron's coming for $60 and has astonishing paint aps. MP Hot Rod is coming with a suggested price of $50 and looks better than first thought. Overall, I'm fairly happy with the show. I can see if you don't care about the movie and prime not liking it. This post has been edited by Yami4ct: Jun 5 2011, 04:23 PM |

Aligned is a separate multiverse from the previous multiverse, as I read it. Not really multiverse though. It's sounding like one big universe with different things happening at different parts that may or may not affect the others. Some selected remarks: QUOTE Archer: same line about making a single continuity "bringing the whole modern view of the brand into a systematic order" how do exodus/exiles and wfc connect into the prime story "each platform has its own story needs in order to be dynamic and successful...not every detail will line up perfectly...the visual stylings are different for several reasons" I'm thinking of some of the older myths and lore here, where you get a dozen tales of the same characters and they can't completely match up... you just accept that all the stories actually happened to these same people and the fuzzy/inconsistent parts remain that way. This is, as I said before, kind of how modern comic universes work too, with varying artistic styles, big storylines in one title that mean everything IN that title, but may or may not even get mentioned in the others (sometimes even when the same characters are involved), and cohesion/continuity is something you try for and play with loosely at the same time. |

If all they really showed today was what I've been reading about, and I had paid to go to the show, I'd be pretty disappointed. I mean, I saw the 13 art last year. They should have done something with it by now other than including Prima in the vault book. That's pretty weak. I'd at least be expecting a comic dealing with them. I mean, I'm assuming there's more about them the new novel and upcoming in TFP...but still. A over a year's lead time with this stuff and nearly nothing to show for it.

So... totals that matter: How many new toys got revealed here? 0? How many times were fans scolded for not taking TFs seriously? 1 If that's going to be there attitude, my next endorsement for the Fall of Fame will be Windbreaker! When a global corporation does nice things for the adult nerds that get off on their children's toys, they do not want that gesture responded to with juvenile dick puns. It's really that simple. They're not giving us a "grow up because Transformers are SRS BSNS", they're just asking that we don't repay their gestures with locker room humor. This is a brand and story panel. There were never going to be any toy reveals. It's a completely different panel than the one last year. In fairness, that was not as explicit as it could have been. There is (well, was) a tradition of a top-secret toy slideshow. People stuck around for this panel to see it. Fans at multiple sites were told all weekend BY those sites that this was The Big One. I'm not damning Hasbro for changing it up. It's their show, and a "tradition" by definition is not the same as a permanent fixture... but the impression that the tradition would continue was still there, there's a bit of egg on the face of the sites that were promoting it as such, and I can't blame people for being a bit disappointed. |

Yep, he can have Bumblebee pee on people sure!" This post has been edited by mignash: Jun 5 2011, 04:37 PM |
