Has this series gotten downright unreadable?
The Pre-War time and "the first struggle" should be interesting. I loved how dynamic (for lack of a better word) Orion Pax was in Ongoing 22-23 but that was Roberts and this isn't but I digress. Issue #11 was pretty much 50% '86 movie quotes by volume. I felt like I was reading their TF:TM adaption again :shudder: To say nothing of the havoc this wrecks with the timeline. No way in hell would Orion have prevented Zeta being assassinated. I know the issues are only a buck but that's no excuse. Anyone else feel the same way? -------------------- ![]() |

It's written by Chris Metzen, are you surprised?

Keep in mind, each issue has 8 pages of content. So saying "only 99 cents" is a bit misleading, since a full issue's worth is $2.97. Still a little cheaper than the $3.99 most shelf copies go for from IDW, but hardly compensation enough to balance poor quality.
I gave it a few installments, but found it pretty poorly designed for 8 page chunks read on an iPod. And the story wasn't grabbing me enough to put up with the format issues. ---Dave --------------------

Issue #11 was pretty much 50% '86 movie quotes by volume. What was from the movie other than the last line of the issue? It's possible I missed one, but that's all I caught. -------------------- |

Off the top of my head, some of Blaster's dialogue. I think there was something else, too.

If you don't like it, don't read it. No one's holding a gun to your head and saying, "READ THE DAMN COMIC!!!"

I read it because I am a sucker who reads every IDW Transformers comic. Sometimes I get the bear, sometimes the bear gets me.

I read it because I am a sucker who reads every IDW Transformers comic. Sometimes I get the bear, sometimes the bear gets me. Pretty much this. Started good enough for me but now I'm just getting the issues to finish the story. On the other hand, we got MTMTE and RiD to make up for it. And they do so IMMENSELY. -------------------- |

Autocracy strikes me as completely pointless. It's like Megatron Origin but with worse art (really) and less potential for eventual James Roberts easter eggs. Is it telling us anything new and consequential? Is it important in any way? Or did they really do it to squeeze out a few more bucks from the market? -------------------- The TFWiki: when just five Infernos aren't enough. http://www.tfwiki.net

I definitely think it squandered the plot hooks that Roberts dangled out there in Chaos Theory.

Well this rewrote a bunch of past canon so it's always possible Roberts will give his spin on things.

Autocracy feels like something thrown together at the last minute to make IDW G1 more Aligned-esque.
It's why I didn't bother after the second issue, really... -------------------- QUOTE You're far too young to be this bitter and angry at the world.... ![]() |
