"Oh. You're one of... THOSE." A line that could definitely work both ways. Probably like Knockout himself. (Seriously--Decepticon bigotry against cars is very clever).

The best Prime episode so far, and the only one I'd call very good throughout. It's hard to feel much hope, though, because after "Con Job" we had "Convoy" which re-blah-itized everything.

I'm glad that Knock Out and Breakdown survived. Knock Out did have some gay undertones. That's something, all Tracks jokes aside, that we've never seen before in Transformers. Interesting. I like that it was fairly subtle.

DW Sunstreaker was gay. I think it was Matt Moylan who stated it served as a basis for the character.

Sunny was angry gay. Knockout is RID Sideburn gay.

QUOTE(David Thomsen @ Mar 12 2011, 12:26 AM) *
I didn't get the 'gay' thing from Knockout. If I went up to a guy and started telling him how much I liked his car, I wouldn't be flirting with him, it would just be guy talk. That's what this felt like to me, guy talk, except that in this case the car just happened to be the guy.

The difference is...you're not a car. And you probably wouldn't be saying it with drawn out, mildly creepy words

He's left the spaceship what, twice so far? Besides, I'm pretty sure I just said that it's happened before just a few posts up.

You don't really need him to leave the base. You just have to notice his small size relative to Megatron and Megatron's equal size relative to Prime.

For me, it's one of the more disappointing things about the show. Starscream should be way bigger.

One thing that does bug me. When they find Fowler isn't available sort of stuck out as kinda daft. Ok, he might be indisposed, but he seriously can't be the only one in the US government who knows about Transformers, and if he was going to be indisposed, wouldn't a temporary contact be bought in? Wouldn't have messed up the episode too much if Tempy McContact didn't believe the Autobots about the theft or something. Then again, the whole Fowler relationship is just weird.

Between this, "Convoy," and "Darkness Rising," I can honestly envision a situation in which the government starts to feel that Fowler's losing control of the situation and so sends in another agent to "assist" with matters.

...except the agent is the polar opposite of Fowler, meaning that things end up getting weird in short order.

Do you really want to be giving the shippers more ammo?

Heh. The museum security guard was played by Reggie Bannister, who's best known for starring in the Phantasm movies...which are also about mysterious metallic spheres that kill people. Coincidence...or conspiracy?

Whoa! Even the extras are played by known actors! Now I want to see that guard drive a hemi-cuda and blasting away with a 4-barrel shotgun (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-fire.gif)

Wolf whistle. Extended really. The tone of his voice. It kinda came across to me as Side Burn, if instead of just chasing anything that moved, he dragged the object of his affection into dark allies kicking and screaming.

Projection? Yes. But it's making Knockout enjoyable. We've had a gay Sunstreaker, when we only found out he was gay after the comic ended. I think it'd be hilarious if at the end of Prime we just got a quick "Yeah, he really was" from Orci and Kurtzman.

I really hate how everyone seems to be using Breakdown without using Breakdown lately. With WFC, that's two instances of "Looks like him, doesn't act a thing like him". I want paranoid breakdown back. Paranoid characters are fun!

Sunstreaker wasn't gay and nothing on the comic even remotely suggested that he was. That was a joke by Matt Moyan. As for Knockout? who knows. He's definitely creepy though.

He confirmed it in a few interviews. It was never going to built upon in any way, but it was part of the basis for the character. I can link you to the moonbase2 interview with him if you'd like

The only way to make Knock-Out more obviously gay would be to have him state "By the way, I nail dudes". I'm fine with having a gay character, of course (well, if the TFs have to have a sexuality to begin with) - I just wish that didn't always have to be a villain.

I've read his statement. It was a joke. The way he said it and the context in which it was said alone makes it obvious. Sunstreaker is not gay. He's a vain, arrogant, antisocial egomaniac with sociopathic tendencies, not homosexual.

No, Tramp. Matt said, in all serious, 'Streaker was gay. Now, Dick Gautier was joking when he confirmed Rodimus Prime as gay.

Besides, why would it matter if the alien robots who in no way reproduce like we do are gay?

No. It was a joke. I've read the comment. It was a joke. If he were gay, it would have been supported in the stories and in his bio. And the context in which Moyan made that statement, and the very words he spoke all support it being said in jest.
