So I was fiddling with my GF Soundwave when I took a look at the bottom cockpit half on his right arm and compared the same part to Universe Blaster. They're different.

Blaster's part has more plastic to it that, when folded up over the fist in the transformation step to vehicle-mide, covers the entire fist. My Soundwave, on the other hand, has less plastic and when folded it only covers to fingers on the bottom of the fist.

Here is the best image I could find that showcase the part in question. My figure's piece looks just like this one. Compare that to the images on the tfwiki or tfu. Different.

So my question is is there a documented difference in molding between Galaxy Force Soundwave and Cybertron Soundwave, plus Soundblaster and Blaster? Do I have some masterfully done KO? The Korean version? I had gotten it loose and complete off BBTS, so I doubted it was a KO. This is baffling me like the Hot Shot from Energon I bought from TRU that had a face painted silver like the Super Link version which isn't mentioned anywhere either.

The silver-faced Energon Hot Shot shows up in several places just by Googling "Energon Hot Shot silver face." Apparently it was just a later run of the toy.

The only differences I could find between the versions of Soundwave are summarized here:
The chest door was remolded slightly on the inside for the Soundblaster and Cybertron releases, probably for strength issues, possibly for smoothness of operation. Galaxy Force Soundwave has an area on the hinges for his hip plates where it looks like something was sliced off manually with a sharp blade. Soundblaster and Cybertron Soundwave feature much cleaner molding in this area.

Cybertron Soundwave

Galaxy Force Soundwave (more, more)

Galaxy Force Soundblaster

I think I see what you mean.

Direct comparison:

Galaxy Force, Cybertron

If I was in the market for a Soundwave I'd jump on it. Heck, I'd likely do it just for Blockrock alone.

As far as yourself - If you don't mind that the little birdie isn't the original go for it. $20 is what it/they ran at retail.

I've heard of the change to Soundwave and it's redecos, first I've heard of the silver faced Energon Hot Shot. I wonder if a certain Hot Shot fan knows... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-fire.gif)
