Unofficial MP Soundwave in Development
I'm liking it. Wondering what the price will be like, considering how expensive regular MP figures are. -------------------- Chris Rock "Everybody is wanting to know what music were the kids listening to, or what movies were they watching. Were cassette decks ever that enormous? They pretty much sacrificed the alt mode for the robot mode. So now we get a giant micro-cassette player that has a robot's torso for the front of it. If Titanium Soundwave wasn't so absolutely terrible, I'd be tempted to compare the two. -------------------- |

That's not big enough for the cassettes to be full-size 80s audio cassettes, as they were shown to be in comics & cartoons, is it?

Wish that was an official toy. And, honestly, that it was Classics scale more than Masterpiece. And that it came with an updated modern Laserbeak. So, basically, if it were something ENTIRELY different from what it is, but looked roughly the same visually I'd love it. -ZacWilliam, and it'd need to be about a third of the price it will probably end up being, likely. -------------------- Ever wonder about the speed of Turbofoxes?

And new Cassettes! Looks like just a modified Universe Ravage, G1 Laserbeak, and the Gears of War Auto-Scout to me... -------------------- |

I like it other than the fact that the tape deck looks a bit weird, but it's bigger than I'd really want since I don't particularly care about the Masterpiece scale.
I guess if they go for keeping the G1 cassette functionality, you either end up with a huge toy with a proportionate looking chest, or a slightly smaller toy with a really wide looking chest. -------------------- "Wise men profit more from fools than fools from wise men; for the wise men shun the mistakes of fools, but fools do not imitate the successes of the wise." - Cato the Elder "Majority rule only works if you're also considering individual rights. Yeah. Shrink this down and make new, smaller cassettes. Perfection.

That's not big enough for the cassettes to be full-size 80s audio cassettes, as they were shown to be in comics & cartoons, is it? The original tapes were 1:1 scale because they were microcassettes, not full size cassette tapes. I love the way it looks, but it's just too big. Have to pass. DAT HEAD, though. -------------------- Signature removed for being way too awesome.

I think it looks great. An excellent update to the G1 mold. The only thing that really bothers me is the location of the hip joints. They look too low. They should have gone the Gundam route and used front and back hip panels. This would have raised the hip joints and look better proportioned. I loved the updated Ravage we got with Hound. I'm surprised Hasbro hasn't given us an updated Laserbeak yet. Perhaps a clue that they are in fact working on a Soundwave update and that he'll come with Laserbeak?

Yeah, tape decks were hardly anything dainty. I love this figure, I really do. I'm just more in the market for a smaller version. Overall though, this guy seems to be a success.

Uh... that tape player really does not look significantly larger than the tape it would contain. And the perspective certainly is making it "look" bigger than it actually is, what with the woman's face well in the background.
