Anyone know if Hasbro has any plans to bring TFA Blackout into mass retail (or at least as an exclusive) in the US at all? Or is it a pipe dream? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-screamer.gif)

Yeah they implied it might be best to get the Takara versions. They're going to try to release them or get them to fit somewhere, but no one wants Animated by this point in the game. So make those preorders for Takara's.

I'd get a Japanese one now while you still have a chance to, if you're really that worried about it. If your worst case scenario is that you spent an extra $30 to get something you really cared about, you're hardly doing anything that crazy in your collecting.

The Hasbro staff said (and I believe them) that they really do want to get all the molds out for the toys they've designed and created. If they've got the tooling for it and the plans for it, they want to release it. But as said, at this point it's a tough sell to get a retailer to stock waves of a dead line. It's up in the air at this point. No plans, but they're trying.
So take that as you will - it's not that they won't or don't want to release the toys, but it's just that they don't know how it might happen. The advice about just deciding whether it's worth the extra $30 for you is pretty much spot on, I think. |

Well, I must of had a TF premonition of sorts (it's a 50/50 chance yes or no, but still (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-waspy.gif) ), but as soon as a posted this thread I just went ahead and bought Takara Blackout. Figured if the answer was against the decision I can just return it. But it looks like I just got confirmation that my decision was right. Cool. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/icon-hotrod.gif)
