Hydra’s comments

The main appeal of this issue is the mountain of great art by both Studio Ox and Magami Ban spanning some 13 pages. The actual comparisons of Transformers are rather arbitrary, although it does gain some points for confirming the identity of Galvatron as Megatron (not like anyone hadn't figured it out, even without the movie). Surely the most entertaining part of the issue was the Dream Teams section, where Superion and Menasor shake hands with their limbs a mix of the various Scramble City teams. Magami Ban's depiction of all the cassettes hanging out together is also cute, with Ravage emerging from Blaster and Rumble riding Ramhorn. Buzzsaw gets special mention, as he didn't even actually appear in 2010.

You have to feel a little sorry for Magami Ban in the transformation guide, where he attempts to illustrate the transformation stages of Rodimus, Wreck-Gar, Blurr, and Cyclonus. Since the movie designs were produced before the toys themselves, few of them have any logical conversion scheme, and even Magami's art can't make Rodimus Prime's trailer folding into his legs make any sense. Factoring in the manga as well, Magami Ban and Studio Ox must have been very busy this month.
