Last week, the big news was that the Transformers home video release was big news. Especially the high-definition version, which the studios claimed sold 190,000 copies to become the best-selling HD-DVD release yet. However, today Home Media Magazine is disputing that claim, saying their own research and new studio estimates put the actual number near 115,000--meaning the initial estimate missed the mark by about 75,000 copies! They point out this also would mean Blu-Ray outsold HD-DVD overall for that week. On the bright side, they confirm the DVD grabbed the 2007 first-week sales record with 8.3 million copies sold.
