Debut of the New Cybertron Chief Commander!

 With this issue the title of Chief Commander is finally handed off, 4 months into the series! The art here of Sonic Bomber seems to be based very heavily off his toy design, with even the small wheels and screw holes visible. Being the Micromaster fan that I am, the introduction of Japanese exclusive Micro TF bases Landshaker and Deadwheeler was interesting to me. Notice that although both Skyhyper and Landshaker have different Microtransformers than American versions Skyhopper and Groundshaker, as for the bases themselves only Skyhyper is recolored. Landshaker, however, has a completely different sticker set than the US version, so it ends up looking pretty different anyway.
With the idea of Operation Z overhauling Planet Micro, we really get a setting where the various Micro bases and stations can be put to an imagined use, unlike the American fiction which never really gave them much of a setting. |
