"Transformers" 3 To Be Less Robot-Heavy, Have Fewer Explosions PDF Print E-mail

But without as many explosions, how will it be "awesome"? Perhaps Michael Bay has finally heard the fans' complaints about the lack of character the Transformers have in his movies. In an interview with LA Times about the movie franchise as a whole, the director revealed that while the third movie will be less robot-heavy, it will also focus more on the robot's character:

Although the number of robots increased significantly from the first film for the second, the third film -- which will hit theaters this summer, won’t be as robot-heavy and there will be fewer explosions, a tight-lipped Bay said after the Q+A.

“There will be a nice crescendo ending,” Bay said. “It gets much more into the robot character. The last time you kind of met a few of the robots; this time you’re gonna get a much cooler landscape.”
