Takara Tomy have updated their YouTube channel with a new promotional video for their Transformers Go! toy line. The video includes a very generalized summary of the Transformers Prime: Beast Hunters story to set up Transformers Go!, so there may be spoilers for the series airing now on the Hub.
Autobase Aichi have posted scans of Hasbro product sheets for upcoming Transformers Prime: Beast Hunters, Generations and Platinum toys. Among the product sheets is one for Platinum Ultra Magnus, the resculpt of Transformers Prime Weaponizer Optimus Prime! The images give us a look at the toy both loose and in package.
Also in with the product sheets is a look at Generations Sandstorm, although that one is a bit odd. It would appear that the image for that sheet was actually plucked from a fan's DeviantART account...
Planet Iacon have posted images of the first batch of Transformers Go! toys in package! This group includes Optimus Prime, Predaking, Shockwave, Bumblebee, Bulkhead, Wheeljack, Starscream, and Soundwave. Also pictured are EZ Collection Smokescreen (who is white instead of sliver like Hasbro's Legion figure) and Airrachnid.
Power3921 of the 2005 Boards is reporting that he has found Generations Voyagers Springer and Blitzwing at a Target in Oregon! The two figures comprise the third wave of the Transformers Generations Voyager size class, and both toys feature the original Triplechanger gimmick for the characters. So if you're one of the fans who has eagerly been waiting for this figures - and who isn't one of those fans? - rush on out and start your toy hunts today!
More details about the upcoming Transformers Go! anime in Japan have been revealed in the form of a magazine spread about the series. As revealed before, this will not be a TV series, but rather a series of DVDs released alongside issues of TV Magazine. As for the story, it would appear that it will be a sequel to Transformers Prime: Beast Hunters (we won't give all of the plot details here to prevent possible spoilers). Optimus and the Autobots have left the Earth, leaving the task of hunting down the remaining Predacons to a small force of six new arrivals. Three of which, of course are the members of the Samurai team gattai robo - Gokenzan.
TFcon have posted the bio for first of their 2013 exclusive toys:
VAN GUARDIAN ALLEGIANCE: Heroic Gobits FUNCTION: Chief of Security “You honestly think you can get past me?”
Profile: Graduating top of his class from the Heroic Gobit Academy, VAN GUARDIAN was immediately assigned to important security duty on his home world. When the war broke out and BIKEMURDER raided GOBITRON, VAN GUARDIAN and his team were captured only to be rescued by CAPTAIN-1 and his crew. Impressed with how long he was able to hold up against almost impossible odds, CAPTAIN-1 recruited VAN GUARDIAN for his Earth team as the Gobit war continued to rage on the other side of the galaxy. Opting for the new generation modifier design his new body is now ready for whatever battle may come his way. Many younger Gobits and academy students look up to him. Smart, tactical and courageous, VAN GUARDIAN is one talented bot.
Abilities: Robot mode flight and high powered laser blasts from his fists which are standard with almost all Gobits. With his new body, he now has an optional high impact battle mask and SHOCK GUN for when he needs to protect his fellow Gobits. He also possesses a unique ability to detect close by enemy scanner devices keeping him always a step ahead of the enemy.
Weaknesses: If VAN GUARDIAN has one fault it is that he is very arrogant. He sometimes thinks the battle is won way before the final shot is fired and that tends to get him in some serious situations. Being revered by so many Gobitronians has gone to his head.
TFsource have posted new information about the Takara Tomy release for Generations Metroplex. Here are the differences as they list them:
- The US version will be white, the Takara will be more true to the white and coloring of the G1 Metroplex - The Japanese version will include two guns, the US version just 1 gun - It is believed the Japanese version will feature chromed/metallic paint apps the US will not, but this is not confirmed. When we asked Takara did not say yes or no.
A new ad for the Transformers Go! anime in Japan has been released, and it reveals some new information on just what the series will be. Firstly, it's not a TV series. Rather, the anime will be released as pack-in DVDs that come with issues of TV Magazine. And secondly, this will apparently set AFTER Transformers Prime: Beast Hunters. Which strongly indicates that the Japanese audience will get to see Beast Hunters after all.
Also, the ad reveals the character design for the ninja combiner team. Previous information had said that they would most likely be beasts, and now it looks like at least one of them is a lion.
Amazon.co.jp has updated their website with a preorder for TakaraTomy's upcoming Transformers GT GT04 Maximus figure. With the new preorder page comes hi-res photos of Fortress Maximus as well as a new image of his Race Queen.
