Deadline.com are reporting that Kelsey Grammer (Frasier, X-Men - The Last Stand) has been cast as the human villain for Transformers 4:
EXCLUSIVE: Forget the affable Frasier Crane; Kelsey Grammer is embracing his inner bad guy. After his Golden Globe turn as the ruthless politician in Boss, Grammer has just landed the key villain role in Michael Bay‘s next Transformers film, which also stars Mark Wahlberg and Stanley Tucci. I’m told that Grammer will play Harold Attinger, a counter intelligence guy. Now, Grammer has been in big films before–he played The Beast in X-Men: The Last Stand–but he moved to UTA a couple of months ago, hoping to get more feature opportunities and the agency certainly came through. He’s also managed by Brian Sher. The film begins production in July, from a script by Ehren Kruger. Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Ian Bryce, Tom DeSanto and Don Murphy are the producers.
The last couple days have been filled with news and announcements from BotCon 2013 and the Transformers Collectors' Club. First some Club news:
The [Subscription Service] figures have shipped from the factory to the packaging company! Yea! We have been waiting just like you since January for this to FINALLY happen. According to the current schedule, it looks like the first figures will ship after BotCon. [...] For those of you who paid by installment, once the figures are here, we will schedule when the next two installments will be billed. You will also need to contact Admin (phone 817-448-9863) to make any CC changes if your Club Membership has lapsed. Please do not send Credit Card information by email as that creates a security issue.
Also:
I hate to say it but it looks like this year's membership figure won't ship until after BotCon as they are coming with the FSS figures. These have now shipped from the manufacturer and are at the packaging vendor.
Now for BotCon:
We have now moved an allotment of attending BotCon sets to the non-attending Iacon category. If you have been waiting, you can now go and order your Iacon set using the registration link.
[...]
I do want to let you know that there will be carded version of Depth Charge you will be able to order once they arrive. We plan to have some available at BotCon. The bulk of the carded figures will be left in Fort Worth for the membership to order. In addition, since this is a club figure and NOT a BotCon figure, the Golden Ticket additional limits to not count for this item.
Lastly, an announcement about the Artist Alley:
Fun Publications, Inc., licensee for Hasbro’s official Transformers Collectors’ Convention, BotCon, is excited to announce that this year's award-winning convention is set to feature its largest Artist Alley ever! With so many amazing artists appearing at BotCon, being held at the Town and Country Resort from June 27th thru June 30th in the beautiful city of San Diego, fans from around the world will get to meet and buy art from some of the best professional artists working on Transformers today!

Hisashi Yuki has tweeted out an image showing Generations Metroplex standing behind G1 Metroplex in robot mode. It's quite impressive - the G1 toy barely comes up the the Generations toy's knees!
Robotkingdom have posted new scans of a hobby magazine recently released in Japan. The scans so off just a plethora of new Transformers Go! toys - from the Takara Tomy repaints of Ripclaw, Skystalker, Grimwing, and Smokescreen to our first images of the ninja combiner! The ninjas' names are a play on Running for the lion, Soaring for the bird, and Diving for the shark, and they seem to have the powers of Fire, Lightning, and the Sea.
Transformer designer Hisashi Yuki likes Metroplex so much, he's tweeted an image of Metroplex on his Metroplex! That's right, the upcoming Generations Metroplex is so large that the original G1 toy can sit on his runway... With plenty of room to spare!
The organizers of TFcon 2013 have now posted the profile for their second convention exclusive toy?
ROSWELL ALLEGIANCE: Heroic Gobits FUNCTION: Warrior / Communications “I am not trying to prove I am better then you, I am trying to prove I am just as good!”
Profile: Originally a beautiful humanoid, when the Terrorist Gobits nearly destroyed their planet, she was forced to take on the form of a robotic space craft to aid in the war against BIKEMURDER. As the battles raged on, she became a seasoned warrior and trusted solider, so much so that in the absence of CAPTAIN-1 and TURBOLAG, she is left to command the whole Good Gobit army. In a recent mission; ROSWELL and a skeleton crew of bots, tried to find a solution to their home world and universe being wiped out by an unknown cosmic factor; it resulted in ROSWELL having to change her robotic form to match that of the local esthetic in a strange new dimension where everything was “More Than Meets the Eye”. Thanks to the Modifier, a machine from her home universe, she has finally achieved a design, color and body that she is somewhat pleased with, but even ROSWELL feels it could be better.
Abilities: Like all other Gobits, she has the standards of robot mode flight and high powered laser based pulse blasts from her fists. Unique to her design is that in UFO mode she is capable of light speed travel. Armed with her Path Cannon she can fire a short range blast that emits small sized black holes. ROSWELL is always looking to upgrade her weaponry to keep up with the ongoing conflict.
Weaknesses: She always drives to be better and thus some of her teammates feel she pushes herself to her to the point of exhaustion. She also can be a little vain sometimes, as she used to be a very curvaceous and beautiful humanoid and is not pleased with her more current blocky robot body.
The Spacebridge have posted a series of images of a prototype Generation 2 Laser Optimus Prime on their Facebook page. This prototype has a trailer that transforms much like the final toy, but all of the details are entirely different. The main tower of the trailer's base mode not only includes an air propelled missile, but also twin Rotorforce propeller weapons. Also on the tower, and taking the place of the disc launcher, are modules with opening cockpits reminiscent of the Combat Deck in the G1 trailer. And lets not forget Roller!
While you're at your local Target store checking for Generations Springer and Blitzwing and Beast Hunters Deluxe wave 3, browse through those Generations Legends figures. Orio of the 2005 Boards is reporting that he's found the new Optimus Prime with Roller and Bumblebee with Blazemaster 2-packs at a Target in Albuquerque, NM! So add them to your hunt list too!
