Simon Fuman has updated his blog talking about IDW's Transformers: Devastation #2. He touches briefly on a few of the comic's plot points and the characters surrounding those occurrences. Don't expect to have the second issue pick up where the first issue's spectacular cliffhanger left off. You may have to wait a few pages for that! Also, for UK fans, Simon Furman will be at the Forbidden Planet in London this Thursday for autographs.
You can read the post on Simon Furman's blog here, and don't forget you can read preview pages for Devastation #2 here. |

Artist Alex Milne has posted his alternate cover for the upcoming IDW Transformers Spotlight: Blaster, now with full colors by Josh Perez! The cover depicts Blaster and his cassette minions (including those infamous Japanese-exclusive dinosaur combiners) doing what they do best: rocking out, and rocking out hard. The comic is due in January 2008.
Visit Alex Milne's DeviantArt page for the full image. Thanks to TFW2005 for the news. |

The one-week sales numbers are in for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen on DVD and HD-DVD, and let's just say they're good. Okay, really good. Okay, record-settingly massively colossally awesome. Dreamworks and Paramount issued a press release claiming the 2007 top week one and day one DVD sales (8.3 million and 4.5 million, respectively) and top week one and day one HD-DVD sales (190,000 and 100,000, respectively). That also already makes it the top-selling HD-DVD ever. Check out the press release, or subsequent articles in the Hollywood Reporter, Variety, and High-Def Digest.
...And all that for a DVD that Michael Bay told USA Today was "not as good as it could've been." |

They don't air until Tuesday night, but CNN ruined the surprise, so we may as well too. SpikeTV has announced the winners of their annual Scream Awards, which honor the sci-fi, horror, fantasy and comic-book movie genres. On Tuesday, October 23rd, you can tune in to SpikeTV to watch Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen pick up the following honors:
- Best Science Fiction Movie
- Sci-Fi Siren: Megan Fox
- Sci-Fi Star: Shia LaBeouf
- "Jump From Your Seat" Scene Of The Year: Optimus Prime Vs. Megatron
- Best F/X
For those at home marking your official Scream Awards scorecard, this means they lost The Ultimate Scream to 300, Best Director to Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez (hey, is that fair?), and Megan Fox saved the world by saving her Breakout Performance award for the cheerleader from Heroes. CNN Money has the full story. The awards air Tuesday, October 23, at 10PM ET/PT on SpikeTV. |

More fuel for the Takara vs. Hasbro debate?
TFW2005 is reporting that they have received word from Ages Three and Up on a Takara release of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Ultimate Bumblebee that will use die-cast and "higher quality" plastic than the Hasbro version. This change is intended to make the figure fit in better with the Masterpiece series of figures that Takara produces. You can see the original post here. |

On Simon Furman's blog it's been revealed who we can expect in an upcoming Transformers Spotlight issue - Arcee! Everyone's favorite fem-bot will be making her IDW debut with her own Transformers Spotlight issue. This is what Simon had to say.
"This is Arcee like you’ve never seen, um, ‘her’ before. Forget pink and fiesty, this Arcee is mad, bad and dangerous to know!" You can view Simon's blog entry and discuss the news in lonegamer8's thread. |
