Looking for Transformers toys just got a little more difficult, as KB Toys has recently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy according to Playthings.com. The reason behind the filing was, in KB Toys VP and comptroller Raymond Borst's words:
“[The] sudden and sharp decline in consumer sales due to macro-economic concerns. ... In light of, among other things, the erosion in sales, the Debtors reviewed their liquidity needs and investigated a number of potential alternatives to address their projected liquidity shortfall.”

All Hail Megatron writer Shane McCarthy talks about Spotlight Drift, finally grasping some free time from slave master/editor Denton Tipton. Here's a tidbit of what Shane had to say about Drift:
The initial spark (pardon the pun) for Drift’s creation came about due to two things. Firstly I wanted a character in AHM that had a particular element to him that I didn’t see readily available elsewhere and secondly because, frankly, I thought it would be a great idea for Hasbro to have an Autobot Drift racer.

Chris Ryall's blog post here with two pictures I took that day. |
