It's no secret that Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was a big fat hit on home video, and next month, they may have the awards to prove it. It turns out that for almost twenty years, an organization called "The Home Entertainment Association" has been giving out something called "The Home Entertainment Awards." EMA member retailers and distributors vote to select winners in 20 categories based on sales/rentals and studio support. Transformers ties Harry Potter for the most nominations this year, in the following categories:
- DVD Extras of the Year
- High-Definition Title of the Year
- Marketing Campaign of the Year
- Sell-Through Title of the Year from a Major Studio
The Home Entertainment Awards will be held June 24 in Las Vegas. Click here for more info and the full list of nominees.

Last week we reported that "Superbad" star Jonah Hill was in early talks to co-star in the sequel to Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen as Shia LaBeouf's "comic relief" sidekick. Today, according to Entertainment Weekly's web site (which broke the news of his possible casting in the first place), those negotiations have broken down. Hill will officially not be appearing in Transformers 2, which will likely reduce the number of improvised penis jokes in the sequel by about 33% (Michael Bay and Shia LaBeouf are still attached).
Read the EW.com report, and continue discussion in this thread.

IDW Editor in Chief, Chris Ryall, posted the inks for this cover yesterday, but now he has graciously posted the colors on his blog as well! This cover takes after Brian Bolland's Batman: The Killing Joke cover, only with Megatron and Reflector instead of the Joker! The art is by Casey Coller and the colors are by Josh Perez. UK Fans can look for this cover at Apocalypse Comics in July!

Hey, remember that movie that came out last year, with the big robots that punched each other and peed on people? MTV does, and they've nominated Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen for three MTV Movie Awards: If you'd like to see some golden popcorn buckets added to Michael Bay's mantel (to go along with the "Best Summer Movie You Haven't Seen Yet" the movie already won at LAST year's awards), click the links above to cast your votes at MTV.com by May 23rd. The MTV Movie Awards will air on June 1. |
