An article has popped up at SoundtrackNet, a website dealing with film scores and soundtracks. The article takes a look at the scoring session for Transformers: The Movie, and features some new information from the movie's composer, Steve Jablonsky. The soundtrack features a 66-piece string orchestra, as well as an 18-piece brass ensemble. And sadly, as Jablonsky reports, the original Transformers theme will not feature into the film's soundtrack-- at least not during the movie. Jablonsky mentioned that he has re-orchestrated it, and it may appear over the closing credits. You can read the entire article, as well as see a slew of pictures from the session, here, and discuss the news in Lonegamer8's thread here on our forums. |

Two new Transformers: The Movie TV commercials have begun airing on Nickelodeon. To be more accurate, it's one TV spot with two different endings. The ad(s) feature(s) lots of new footage of the Autobots, particularly Bumblebee, and a line of dialogue from Optimus Prime.
The first TV spot aired yesterday afternoon, as noted by Boss Borot. A poor-quality (but better than nothing) video of the ad was posted on YouTube. This version ends with Spike punting a decapitated Decepticon.
Corgsopal gave us the heads-up about the second version that aired today, and this time we had the DVR ready and were able to get a direct video capture. This version is the same as yesterday's until the logo appears, then it ends with the Autobots outside Sam's house. View it on YouTube, or visit Corgsopal's thread for discussion, screenshots and direct download links. *UPDATE* Video captures of the first version of the ad, with the Frenzy ending, are now on YouTube and in the discussion thread. |

In a more interesting addition to the Transformers: The Movie promotional craze, TFClub shows images in this post of what appears to be a display including a wrap-around of the Optimus versus Megatron side-profile images we've seen already, but capped with movie Optimus Prime's floating head. The advertisement is apparently at a Taipei station in front of Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Department Store.
Unicron, eat your heart out. Thanks to lonegamer8 for giving us the heads-up and starting this thread in our forums. |

While browsing the Target Australia website, TFW2005 poster Mr_K stumbled upon the first promotional images of Transformers: The Movie Robot Heroes Ratchet and Megatron. As usual for this line, even the evil Decepticons look like they'd rather give you a big ol' hug than squish you into a puddle of goo. But watch out--they may mean well, but they're still very, very pointy.
Check out a mirror of the Target image in our Gallery, and discuss the li'l fellas in Octavius Prime's thread.

They're just like "Cop And A Half," except the little black kid is a four-armed freak made of knives, and Burt Reynolds will eat your face off. Remy Rodis has added a new gallery to TFKenkon.com showing Transformers: The Movie Deluxe Barricade with his little buddy Frenzy, and as usual, the amazing photos will make you want to run down to Wal*Mart and beg a manager to check Hasbro's web site so they'll know they can sell one to you before June 2.

We've just received word from the proprietors of the Transformers: The Movie tie-in game website regarding some new and exciting developments regarding the site: - A new four-tiered ranking system is in place allowing you to advance in rank, gain power and build status. As you advance you’ll have more and more battle actions to choose from. Before each match, you'll be able to choose which battle actions you want to take into battle. The number of actions you can take into battle depend on your rank. For more information, click on "Instructions" and check out the "Ranks" heading.
- Enhanced animations will make the Battle experience more real than ever before.
- Our new message forum allows you to talk strategy with your teammates or discuss the video game with the rest of the community.
- The AllSpark Special Access section will be rolling out exclusive content such as screenshots, developer blogs, G1 content, movie toy images and movie stills. Only the team controlling the AllSpark can access this section!
- As of 4PM PST on May 25th, the Decepticons lead the Autobots by less than 400,000 points. It's a close battle, still anyone's game. Autobots, you’re gaining on the Decepticons…the AllSpark is almost yours…

A new Chevrolet print advertisement featuring Transformers: The Movie Bumblebee has begun appearing in newspapers. The ad shows Bumblebee as a shiny new 2009-model Camaro and a surprisingly filthy robot. The tagline: "When you travel 30 trillion light-years to Earth, you're not going to pick just any car." So that's it: anyone who's written a fanfic in the last 20 years that mentions the location of Cybertron as any other distance from Earth, scrap it and start over. Chevrolet says you're wrong.
Our scan comes from the May 23-29 New York City alternative weekly newspaper The Village Voice. Poster Deceptikreep at TFW2005 reports seeing it in the comparable left-coast paper San Francisco Weekly, making it officially a nationwide campaign. Check out the large image in our Movie Promotional Images Gallery. |

Megatron can't control him, but you can! A listing on RadioShack.com reveals the first image and details for the upcoming Transformers: The Movie Starscream Micro Flyer. While it doesn't transform, it is a fully functional 15.1" long radio-controlled jet, with a 150-foot range and precision controls for aerial maneuvers. The toy will retail for $39.99, and presumably will be available with Radio Shack's other Transformers products on June 2.
Full product information and images can be found at RadioShack.com. Thanks go to Signal Lancer at TFW2005 for the news. |

Images of Transformers: The Movie posters from the rest of the world keep on rolling in. The latest is a collage-style poster, showing Optimus, Megatron, Scorponok, Shia & Megan, and those poor, poor soldiers. The poster has shown up as small images on eBay (via Seibertron) and a large image on the Chinese toy discussion board ACToys.
Check out a mirror of the ACToys image in our Movie Promotional Images Gallery. |
