His toy, that is. The Chinese basektball star on both sides of the Pacific has gotten quite lucky, compared to his fellow players. 178Dìmiē has put up several photos of a basketball that transforms (more like unfold, really) into Ming.
Check the images here at the Hoop China board, or mirrored here at the Allspark Gallery! |

And what does this has to do with Transformers? Said factory, located in Dongguan, bordering Guangzhou to the north, is where Hasbro's Nerf toys are made. Said riot was in part due to the weakening economy, as well claims of misunderstood labor laws and unpaid severance packages when the factory owner, Hong Kong based Kader Holdings Company Ltd., reportedly laid off over 200 workers on Wednesday, Beijing Time. It was only last month that over 7000 workers were laid off at another plant in Dongguan that made toys for Hasbro and Mattel. If that keeps up, there's a possibility of LESS Transformers toys on the shelves in the future.

Artist Marcel Matere has put up the cover, lines and color, to Maximum Dinobots #3, showing Grimlock and Sunstreaker (Hunter-Streaker? one of the Headmasters?) in a "grim" situation with what looks to be a certain Decepticon in the background. Comic News International also has a quick summary of things that'll be shaking down.

Screenwriter Roberto Orci answers some more questions over at TFW's thread recently. One of his answers is that Revenge will be longer than the first film:
one new bit of info I can tell you is that the movie will be a longer than the first one (probably)
"Probably", eh? On the question of trailers, there had been a TF2 wrap party back on November 15 in Hollywood (as reported by the TF LAM blog), and that the footage shown was only selected sections of the film, NOT a trailer. Click here for Roberto's answering posts, and here for TF LAM blog's entry with two links regarding the party. |

Bookstore Barnes and Noble and publisher Del Rey of Randomhouse now has a listing for a Revenge book titled "Transformers The Veiled Threat" by Alan Dean Foster, author of the first film's novelization. While B&N's listing has it "Bridge Book", the ISBN-13 on both listings are the same, so it is possible that the book will bridge both films. Look for it come April 2009.
Check here for B&N's listing, and here for Del Rey's listing. |

For diehards who love the behind-the-scenes aspect of Transformers animation, Jim Sorenson has this to say in his latest blog entry:
If you've read The Ark I and/or II, you know that the books are pretty packed. We basically used every available surface open to us to try to squeeze in extra models. Well, despite that there was quite a lot we couldn't fit.
Here's the model sheet for Fortress Maximus' transformation sequence, a model sheet for two of the alien prisoners from G1 Season 3 episode 7 "Chaos", and his take on why there's two different Headmasters designs between the US and the Japanese versions. |

Toy-World.com.hk has posted scans from the latest issue of Figure King Magazine. The scans, or rather the ones related to Transformers, include new images of Masterpiece Grimlock (including a look at a tail and head motion gimmick), Disney Label Mickey Mouse, Henkei Cheetas, Hound, Cyclonus (really just the Universe figure as a stand-in), Dirge and Thrust, as well as a new Alternity Convoy image, and another look at the Alternity Megatron sketch (cropped different to reveal new detail)!
Click here and here to see the scans, or here to see where we've mirrored them in our galleries! |
