A new article in the Los Angeles Times covers an apparent rift between the "SKG" part of Dreamworks SKG--that's Spielberg, Katzenberg, and Geffen--and their newish parent company Paramount. Scuttlebutt is that the trio feels their successes, including some giant $!#@ing robot movie you may have seen, haven't been getting enough credit with the studio, and they see greener pastures elsewhere.
Buried in all the posturing and industry insider gossip is one tidbit of welcome news: Spielberg and Bay are confirmed to be signed on for Transformers 2, and the sequel is due out in the summer of 2009. Less than two years, people! Read the full article here. Thanks to Nelson over at MichaelBay.com for pointing it out! |

"Deck the halls with 'bots of holly--" No. "We three kings, from Cybertron are--" Nah, no good either. "You're a mean one, Megatron, you really are a--" Forget it. The point is, there are some new Transformers: The Movie Christmas items coming to a retailer near you, just in time for a month before Halloween. A company called Season Specialties is putting out a line of Transformers decorations including stockings, an Optimus Prime snowglobe, and a variety of Christmas tree ornaments.
Tformers has a gallery of these items, and TFW2005 poster ams reports finding many of them along with Transformers wrapping paper at a Florida Target. Discuss in Bass X10's thread.

A poster at TFW2005 has come across some interesting images while surfing an Asian fan site. The images are of Classics two packs featuring Ultra Magnus/Optimus Prime, and Jetfire/Grimlock! The boxes apparently have flaps that cover up the window, and when these are folded back a pop-up of the character is revealed along with the toy.
Does this mean that fans who missed these the first time around will get another chance? Unfortunately, so far there's no word on where or how these will be released. For now though, you can see the TFW2005 report and the images here.
