They don't air until Tuesday night, but CNN ruined the surprise, so we may as well too. SpikeTV has announced the winners of their annual Scream Awards, which honor the sci-fi, horror, fantasy and comic-book movie genres. On Tuesday, October 23rd, you can tune in to SpikeTV to watch Transformers: The Movie pick up the following honors:
- Best Science Fiction Movie
- Sci-Fi Siren: Megan Fox
- Sci-Fi Star: Shia LaBeouf
- "Jump From Your Seat" Scene Of The Year: Optimus Prime Vs. Megatron
- Best F/X
For those at home marking your official Scream Awards scorecard, this means they lost The Ultimate Scream to 300, Best Director to Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez (hey, is that fair?), and Megan Fox saved the world by saving her Breakout Performance award for the cheerleader from Heroes. CNN Money has the full story. The awards air Tuesday, October 23, at 10PM ET/PT on SpikeTV. |

More fuel for the Takara vs. Hasbro debate?
TFW2005 is reporting that they have received word from Ages Three and Up on a Takara release of Transformers: The Movie Ultimate Bumblebee that will use die-cast and "higher quality" plastic than the Hasbro version. This change is intended to make the figure fit in better with the Masterpiece series of figures that Takara produces. You can see the original post here. |

On Simon Furman's blog it's been revealed who we can expect in an upcoming Transformers Spotlight issue - Arcee! Everyone's favorite fem-bot will be making her IDW debut with her own Transformers Spotlight issue. This is what Simon had to say.
"This is Arcee like you’ve never seen, um, ‘her’ before. Forget pink and fiesty, this Arcee is mad, bad and dangerous to know!" You can view Simon's blog entry and discuss the news in lonegamer8's thread. |

Allspark poster Defensis Prime has finally provided us with details about the "exclusive footage" Circuit City offers with purchase of the Transformers: The Movie DVD. A card provides a link and passcode to a small site featuring mobile ringtones and background images, plus four short videos. The videos complement the 2-disc DVD's "Our World/Their War" featurettes, and seem almost like outtakes from those films.
-The Voices - Shows several of the voice actors as they record their lines, including more footage of Cullen and Weaving as well as Darius McCray, Jess Harnell, and more. -Metal In Motion - Early test footage of robots running, fighting, and transforming. -Stunts - A look at the live-action stunts from the movie. -Gearing Up - Michael Bay shops in the prop department for army gear. For more information and discussion, check out this thread. |

The second series of the Transformers Customizable Card Game has apparently hit stores. TFW2005 poster Hooper_X reports finding the new "Energon Wars" expansion packs in his local Target store. The so-called 3-D Battle Card Game features punch-out cardboard "transforming" versions of characters from all Transformers generations, from G1 right up through the movie. This second set includes some odd character choices, such as Beast Wars Quickstrike and a pink redeco movie Megatron named Sky Lynx!
For a look at the new cards, check out the official web site. Thanks to Hooper_X of TFW2005 for the news. |
