Sometimes even Steven Spielberg can't get what he wants. Despite Spielberg's stated plans for the writing team of Alex Kurtman, Robert Orci and Ehren Kruger to finish the Transformers 2 screenplay before the threatened Writers Guild strike next week, Variety is reporting that the sequel did not make the list of projects ready to begin shooting.
Not on the pre-strike list is "Transformers 2," a sequel that is still being written. Labor talks will determine whether the visual effects-heavy film makes its projected June 26, 2009, release date.

Hasbro has updated its Transformers site, revealing the Transformers: The Movie Allspark Blasters. They show two role play blasters, one styled after Ratchet and the other Bumblebee, which feature laser lights and battle sounds. Similar to the Big Rig and Barrel Roll Blasters, these have a robot fist molded on the handle of the gun, so you can pretend that you've become Ratchet or Bumblebee!
You can see the press release and images here.

A new batch of releases, but still nothing could shake the Transformers: The Movie DVD from its number one spot. As of October 28th, Transformers ruled the top spot for DVD sales, HD-DVD sales and DVD rentals for the second week in a row! "Robinsons", "Mr. Brooks", and "Hostel: Part 2" all tried to unseat the giant robots, but they all failed.
You can see the run down on sales this past week here at Reuters. |
