Hasbro's New Position Hasbro has named Lisa Licht as their new General Manager, Entertainment & Licensing, a newly-created position. This position is designed to strengthen Hasbro's ties with the entertainment industry, continue to build successful licensing world-wide, and look into brand experiences outside toys and games. Essentially this means that she'll oversee for other brands, what the Transformers: The Movie has done for Transformers! As Ms. Licht described it:

“The success of Transformers – as an intellectual property that translated so powerfully into a movie and a highly successful licensing program – is just the tip of the iceberg from my perspective. Hasbro’s iconic and unmatched brand portfolio is truly a ‘who’s who” when it comes to family entertainment, and I am eager to help the Company leverage these brands to their fullest potential.”

Possible hint at size classes for Classics 2.0Coming from TFW2005 Member Ktulu's interview with Don Figueroa again:

I recently did concept art for two deluxes and two smaller bots for Classics 2.0. The last toy that I helped on that was produced was WW Grimlock, and I think I'm the only one to have received a copy that got past the prototype stage, but I'm sure there's more at Hasbro.

Smaller than Deluxe figures? Will this be a return to the Basic Size Class? Or are there more Classics Minicons on the way? Only time will tell!

Don Figueroa off Transformers comics? TFW2005 member Ktulu recently had a bac-and-forth with Transformers Artist Don Figueroa. Don mostly talked about his past work, but when asked about what he was up to currently, he revealed that he was "off" Transformers comics right now.

I'm actually off Transformers comics nowadays. I'm still doing occasional TF stuff for Hasbro, Botcon and IDW, but I really want to do other things now including a creator owned series that Harold Tietjens (AKA Hiro Prime) will be helping me on... I'm also helping out former IDW editor Dan Taylor with his own Mech-based series and I'm also hoping to work on another book soon for IDW, I'm doing character designs for it now.

You can see the full interview here, thanks to TFW2005 for the link.

The Circuit-Su Champion A new auction for a carded Transformers Animated Prowl has shown up on eBay, and included in the images for the auction is a clear shot of the Autobot's bio!

Prowl, Autobot Spy

Prowl has spent his life studying the secrets of the ancient art of Circuit-Su. Through its teachings, he has discovered the beauty of pure logic, and the invincibility of reason. All things - even combat - are subject to reason. If one is willing to calmly apply one's mental faculties to any problem, the solution will soon reveal itself. He often finds the chaotic antics of humans and other AUTOBOTS frustrating, but he will stop at nothing in their defense.

You can see the auction and the images here, thanks to TFW2005 for the link.
