BotCon 2008 In addition to the flashier updates of toy images, BotCon.com has added information about a third convention hotel. They've blocked off rooms with two double beds at the Milennium Hotel in Cincinnati, across the street from the Hyatt. To book a room, call 800-876-2100 or 513-352-2100, and request the BotCon or Transformers
Convention rate. And if the past is any indication... you'll want to do it quickly!

For more details and all the BotCon info, visit BotCon.com. Discuss this development in Robowang's thread.

BotCon 2008 Optimus Prime Truck ModeBotCon.com has updated with the first photo of the 2008 exlusive "Shattered Glass" Optimus Prime in his alternate mode. The eeeeeeevil Autobot leader sports an almost completely purple cab, save for battle damage, an askew Autobot symbol, and an ominous "Til All Are Gone!" motto spray-painted on his air-foil. Come to think of it, given how fast the loose sets sold out... that could be a motto for the "Shattered Glass" set itself.

Check out both images of Prime, along with all the BotCon 2008 news, at BotCon.com. They promise another toy from the set will be revealed later today, so keep your eyes peeled and your finger clicking "refresh!"

Hail and Farewell For quite some time now, we know that Simon Furman was working on a story to add to IDW Publishing's Mosaic Project. We knew that it would be a story about Sunstreaker and Hunter O'Nion, but that was pretty much it. Now though, the finished page has been revealed on the writer's blog! And for those of you looking at the mentions in the last panel, Simon Furman does say that this story is completely in-continuity, so maybe we'll actually get to see those happening! (Of course that means that this story may contain spoilers)

Transformers Easter Egg Kit "Here's the Easter robot, hooray! The happy Easter robot, hooray!" After you've given out all your Transformers Valentines on Thursday, you'll want to look ahead to the next major commercially viable holiday: Easter! And fortunately, Transformers will be there to get you through that one as well.

Allsparker Monzo reports finding a Transformers: The Movie Easter Egg Decorating Kit at a local Big Lots. The kit includes colors, stickers, stands, a drying tray, and more, yet somehow fails to use the obvious "More Than Meets The Egg" tagline. If you're still interested in the kit despite this unconscionable oversight, check out the pictures in Monzo's thread.

Transformers 2: "Geriatric Robot," More From Bay PDF Print E-mail

Michael Bay It slipped under our radar, but last Friday Variety's Anne Thompson posted some tidbits from a Visual Effects-related Q&A with Michael Bay and the team behind Transformers: The Movie. First, some clarification of that Rotten Tomatoes quote we posted yesterday: "I like to write myself. So I wrote 60 pages. I showed the writers something to look at." Will Transformers 2 score Michael Bay his first screenplay co-writing credit? Or will he get in hot water with the WGA for doing a writer's job during the strike? Time will tell.

Additionally, Bay promises that TF2 will feature more humor and deeper robot characters, including a "geriatric robot." A new character, or might Transformers 2 be reserved for Movie Kup?

Read more in the Thompson on Hollywood blog. Credit goes to Comics2Film.com for originally finding the link.
