BotCon 2015 Shuttle/Taxi Sharing/Carpooling

If you’ve read the information on, you’re aware that transportation between the hotel and the airports this year is a little more… limited than in previous years. Essentially for “direct” transit, you can either take public transportation to a location where the hotel can send a shuttle, a process that will take quite a chunk of time and is inconvenient for those with a significant amount of luggage, or you can hire a shared car/shuttle of which the cheapest option is around $50 for a one-way trip. Or, additionally, there’s always the option to rent a car for the weekend.

Since none of these options are as “easy” or inexpensive as prior conventions, we here at the invite our users to utilize our BotCon 2015 Carpool thread to organize meet-ups to share the costs of the shuttle or rental car. We ask that you post what day and time you’re arriving, what airport you’re flying into, and whether you’re looking for a ride or looking for someone with whom to share a ride. The Transformers fandom is a tight knit one and one that comes together to help out its members. Let’s come together once again and show just how great the fandom is with this act of community organization.

You can get a list of the hired transportation providers on and a list of the rental car companies at the airport websites: Chicago O’Hare or Midway.

  • I have been worried about trying to find a shuttle service to BotCon this year. I don't want to pay an astronomical fee to take a taxi from the airport to my hotel and I definitely don't want to be stranded at the airport. Thank you for recommending the BotCon carpool thread. I'll definitely check it out and see if I can find some friendly people who are willing to give me a ride.
